Vote!

While Dalan was here on an actual week day we got him into the courthouse to vote. This is his first time to vote for a president. Bailey took these pictures of Mark Trupp's field on our west side of the valley. We are all praying for the right kind of change. Go Mitt Romney. We will be glad for it to be over with. One more week left.

A Blessing from Heaven

Dalan and Stacy had done a lot of walking yesterday trying to get into the elk. I guess Dalan will have to wait another year to shot one, but I think him and his Dad had a great time yesterday. Last night at around 2:30 am I woke up from being dead asleep and knew that I needed to test Dalan. I didn't want to bother him and I didn't want him to be grouchy with me for doing this and thought oh he is o.k. But I rolled over and my feet hit the floor and I approached him and he said he thought he was o.k. but I told him he needed to test so that I could sleep. We tested him and he was 66. I got him two juices and he quickly drank them down, and he was really sweet too. Told me thank you and said I probably will be high in the morning, which I responded no you won't. He woke up this morning at 175. Yeah. All that walking yesterday had done a number to his sugar levels. I am so thankful for a loving Heavenly Father who helps us with our trials.

Funny Video of Dalan's Pumpkin

Pumpkin Carving

We had a great time last night carving pumpkins. It made me smile and I was happy but I was also very melancholy. I feel like time is flying by and I don't really like the thoughts of the kids being gone and all on their own. Ouch.

Things I have learned from my lesson.

I have studied hard for the last week working on my lesson. It is so interesting how I feel like I can't do it and with study, pray, and faith it seems like my lessons come together. I do love giving the 4th Sunday lesson but at the same time it is hard because how do you give a lesson from one of our leaders, and prophets. How do you make that any better? How should I present it? What part should I present? Anyway I do feel like I have been blessed by my Heavenly Father to do a good job. My last lesson was from Elder Quentin L Cook's talk, titled "In Tune with the Music of Faith". Here are my favorite quotes that I used.

"What we are speaks so loudly that our children may not hear what we say."

"The message, ministry, and Atonement of Jesus Christ, our Savior, are our essential family curriculum."

"Mothers and Fathers praying with children may be more important than any other example."

Clearly, a dividing line between those who hear the music of faith and those who are tone-deaf, or off key is the active study of the scriptures."

"We are to be positive of good cheer. We emphasize our faith, not our fears."

I also showed part of the video of "The Touch of The Master's Hand". It is really good!

Dad and Mom Visit.

What a great week end we had. My Dad and Mom came and stayed with us. Not just a quick one night stop on to somewhere else. We had a great time. They came Thursday evening. On Friday Bailey didn't have school so we took a drive around Palisades and then through the canyons to Jackson. We went and ate good Mexican food and had a great time. We also made a drive around the mountain and through horseshoe canyon. We visited a lot and of course we ate too much. We made yummy popcorn with coconut oil! They came to church with us and that was fun too. I had to give my lesson and so it was great to have mom there, Bailey also came and listened to it. I appreciate there support and love. Dalan had went to Kuna with Stormi and so on Sunday evening he came up so he could hunt Monday and part of Tuesday. So that was fun to see him. Great time.
Last night the moon was gorgeous on the snow covered mountains

Guess What Bailey Started Doing?

Yikes! Bailey started applying for BYUI this week end. She got part of the application done and now has to meet with Bishop and Stake President. She took her Seminary paper over to Brother Calderwood and she is on the list to meet with school counselor. Wow!! PS Don't look at the messy desk. Yikes!

Drill Team Dance 2012

On Friday Bailey asked Zane Dayton to go to the Drill Team Dance with her. We had bought this bowling pin years ago thinking that it would come in handy for something like this. So she wrote his name on it and tied 2 black balloons that we painted finger hole on it and wrote a cute note. She had to be at school that morning by 7:30 to go to FCCLA conference in Rexburg so she had her friend make sure he got it. She found out later that day that he had been asked by someone else. Bummer. But he answered her yesterday and told her he would love to go with her. It will be fun for her.
The note read:
Zane,
Out of all the pins in the Lane.
Stay standing like a spare
We'll go the dance and make a handsome pair.
Bailey

Here she is dressed up in her nice dress pants and polo shirt. She actually changed and wore a red shirt Mrs. Williams brought. She had a great time at the FCCLA conference. Had a lot of fun.

October 18, 2012

Wow another birthday! I guess that is good, right? Yes it is and it was a great day. Stacy and I went for a 4 wheeler ride to put the lay down fence down around the pasture. It was such a gorgeous day. It was so fun to just enjoy it all. We also did more work around the yard and Stacy finished his hay feeder for the horses. It will be awesome. I am a lucky girl to have such wonderful family. I heard from all of my brothers and sister and parents. I feel so blessed.

These little purple pansy's so amaze me. How can they look good even after is has frozen hard. They are amazing. They do defiantly make me smile.
Another thing that makes me smile are these bowls. I just love the colors. Stacy bought them for me along with a new jacket some other clothes and some new black dress boots. We are also going to Collin Raye concert tomorrow for my birthday.

Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness

Bailey's FCCLA group did a wear pink day at school. She looked really cute, as usual.

What a Show

Monday morning Oct. 15, 2012. Opening day of bull season. So AWESOME! Bailey got her first bull elk and he is a beauty! So proud of her!!! She is a great shot. It was a great day. She made it to school around 12:30 and got to show pictures and brag a little. So fun! I will have her write her story and add it later, but enjoy the pictures.

Marriage

I Love This! I Love Stacy L. over and over!

Saturday Night Movie

On Saturday evening we went out to Rexburg and we picked up Stormi (Dalan's girlfriend) and then we went to DI and blew 30 minutes. We then went to the cheap theatre (this is what we call it) and saw a really good movie Don't Back Down.

Chicken Hunting

Dalan and Bailey got 4 wild chicken. I do believe I know what we are having for Sunday Dinner.

The Bugle

How awesome is this. It is 7:22 am on Saturday morning. No sleeping in for us, but I am still in bed at the moment. Dalan is home and his alarm went off around 6:45. He is going duck hunting this morning. Opening day and another first post mission. He is going with Daniel Davis who just got home from his mission. Dalan and him got to be good friends. As Dalan was loading his truck we could see a herd of cows and calves of elk just below the house. Then all of a sudden we heard papa elk bugle. So dang cool. He bugled about 6 times. Stacy and Bailey had the window opened in the bedroom and listened also. A great wake up call.

Bailey Voted!

OK I wanted to take a picture at the polls, but I left my phone in the pick up and plus Bailey did not think that was a good idea, so this is the next best thing. We just got home from voting. It is totally the way to go, no lines. Bailey's first vote! Go Mitt Romney! I remember my first time I voted. I went with my parents and my little sister. She went into the booth with me and someone from the paper took a picture of us. So you see my legs and Katie is below the curtain by my feet. I will try and find the picture and scan it in.

Family Picture Collage

This is a collage of our family picture that I had made for the grandparents and it is also a copy of the big one I have on my wall in the living room. (except it is bordered in black)
