We Finished The Book of Mormon

On Monday night we finished reading The Book of Mormon!! We DID IT! I am proud of ourselves. We really did enjoy doing it and it was a fun thing to do with Dalan doing it too. Both Grandma's also finished it. Hope it has helped us get into a habit and we are going to help Bailey finish the D & C. Then I would like to read the New Testament, so we will see how it goes!

Almost here...

Well I think we are all ready for tomorrow! Yeah! House is pretty much cleaned and things planned and we are so excited to pick Elder Lerwill up at the Idaho Falls airport at 1:00. We have tried really hard not to think about it too much so it won't drive us crazy. We know he had a great mission and that it will be an adjustment coming home and I feel for him. But we are so excited to see him. Can't wait to pinch his cute little cheeks. We are so proud of him.

Last E-Mail from Elder Lerwill in Az. March 12, 2012 Bitter-Sweet

Wow thanks for your emails this week, i think that i got them all! :) This past week has been a complete roller coaster ride. it has been like the past 2 years of emotions crammed into 7 days. hard to explain but i think you might understand a little! haha. but it has been good. we have seen so many miracles and blessings this week and it has been fun having elder Bowerman with us. he is a great missionary and will do great here.defiantly has a different teaching style that I and elder Hyrkas has been taken back with that and trying to adjust. its a hard thing to do but they will do great.

the new investigator that i told you about (Chris) that we found last Sunday night is doing great. she came to church for all 3 hours and loved every min. of it. she has great fellowshippers and lots of support and love coming from the ward. she will be getting baptised on March 30th. way prepared and is going great. as she has started learning about the church she sure has received a lot of opposition from her friends and family but her faith is amazing. as she tells us of the things that she is going through and how she is being blessed there is no way you can doubt that God is working and active in her life. So cool to see and watch her grow in the gospel.

My ankle is doing good and healing quickly. i think i will be ready for a walking boot in a week. the cast and crutches are such a pain! not quite the triumphant arrival home that i was imagining but it will all work out. :)

Crazy that you are planning on so many people at my home coming! i wasn't very nervous till i read that, haha. it will be good though. i am excited to see every one for a few days and then come back out here on my mission for another 2 years or so...ha, if only if only. it will be good once i get there.

This past week has been extremely challenging to stay focused. everyone here talking about hasn't helped either but just within myself i never thought this time would ever come and guess what, it does and it has kind of freaked me out, all is good. I will just live in denial for the next 2 days. haha

Well i would like to thank every one one last time via email for all your love and support over the past 2 years. it has been an incredible journey and has forever changed my life. the blessings and miracles that i have witnessed have left a unforgettable impression upon my mind and heart and there are so many people who i have seen change. this is a testimony to me that no matter who you are or where you are coming from you can come in or come back to the literal fold of God. we are so blessed to be a part of this gospel and thereby be recipients of the fullness of blessings. Thank you for everything. have a wonderful week. keep safe, healthy, and happy. Pray my plane doesn't crash! ;)

Love

Elder Lerwill

Panter Kidz Stick Horse Barn

Stacy was so excited to have a wood project to do for the Panter kids. They needed a place for their tired stick horses to rest. So this is what he came up with. So cute. I put some vinyl farm animals on it.

He comes home in 9 days!!!! We are so excited.

Elder Lerwill: I grew up in a small town, on the Idaho-Wyoming state line, on our family farm. I love the outdoors, skiing, dirt biking, and spending time with my wonderful family. My mission has changed my life so much. As I entered into the service of God, I saw myself and others change by coming closer to the Savior Jesus Christ. What a blessings it is in our lives, individually, as well as in our families. I know the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth these days for our personal welfare, and benefit. I love serving the people in this ward and look forward to future opportunities to work with each of you. Thanks!

Letter written to Dalan from Stacy

hello 3/5/12 wow I cant believe that date  I am excited to tell you wont miss winter . we had a couple big snow storms last week so there will be plenty here for you to enjoy . I am sure that with your cast you will love that. I am going to warn you  your sister is going to be a little hard to contain she is so excited it is fun to watch her I am hope full that we are not looking for her in the security office you might see her come on the plane to get you . we will do our best to contain her so we have no arrests and no one gets hurtSmile   we are starting to get help lined up and to talking to grain cleaners and the thinking and planning is starting to begin for the new crop year but that is crazy also that it is that time of year. I wanted to just drop you a quick note and tell you the church is true and the book of Mormon is awesome thank you for getting us on it it has been good we are on 3 Nephi 24 . grandma Curtis finished so fun for all  love you lots keep up the good work love dad

Holy cow...Bailey you need to settle down a little! haha just kidding, that is so funny, i couldn't help but smile as i read your email. it is a exciting time for everyone. one of the things that sucks about it the most is that it will only happen once, i cant come home, serve another 2 years and come home again. so many mixed emotions. but alls going great.

We had a awesome week here, so many sweet things happened and are happening in our area. My ankle is actually doing a little better and i feel like it is healing. Dr said that in 3 weeks i can start to put some weight on it and that was a week ago so we will see how it feels. i hope that Sister Ellsworth called you and filled you in on everything, i am sure she did. :)

Today we are going to a D-backs game at 1:00 and that should be a ton of fun. I have to be at the mission office at 4:30 for my dinner and testimony meeting and that will take up my whole night. Wed. is transfers and Elder Hyrkas' new companion is elder Bowerman. he has been out 6 months and will be coming in. should be good. looking back on it and what little i know about elder Bowerman it is a similar situation as when i got elder Mace. it will be really good for elder hyrkas! he will learn a lot. :) it will be kind of fun to be with them for a week, it should make that transition a little easier for my companion. still learning the area and once i leave for good he will really need to learn the area! haha, he will do great though.

I got my hair cut this morning, it was the first haircut i have paid for in 2 years, I didn't want anyone to weaver this one so i paid for it. :)

Last night we taught 2 new investigators, Chris and Judy. they have both been really prepared and are so sweet. at the end of the lesson the both were totally different and the best thing was that they realized it themselves. they know what they need to do to know and are going to do it. I love teaching the gospel. especially to people who are humble and open and just get it. if you pay attention and try, it makes sense logically and then the spiritual anchor comes and fortifies everything you know. they both have the potential of being baptized in March or April if they can kick the smoking! :) sweet night last night at the conclusion of a long day!

One thing that i am excited for about coming home is being able to go to church and focus on my own spiritual growth and needs. seems like during sacrament at the beginning you are sitting there worrying and stressing about who is going to come to church and the rest of the meeting you are wondering why the ones not there didn't come. and then the rest of the day your busy trying to make everyone else's church experiences uplifting and good make every one happy! haha, but it is wonderful because that is exactly why i am here, it will just be nice to sit back and focus on whats actually going on with out SO many distractions! it is wonderful though! :)

So it should be a good week coming. we have lots of things to get done and i don't think it will be an issue to stay busy! :) i think that is all the new stuff i have to forward on to you so i will call that good until next week. thanks for all your support and love and making these past 2 years possible. I hope that you have a great week and get a lot accomplished and keep safe, happy and healthy. take care and don't get too trunky! ;) (BAILEY)

Love you,

Elder Lerwill

p.s. I figure sense i am going to be starting school again soon i should start writing in large, bold, double spaced font to make me feel like i am writing more that i really am. :)
