Bannack State Park

On Sunday we stopped at Bannack State Park and spent time in an old old gold mining town that has all kinds of old buildings. They let you just wondere through on your own and look at everything. It was fun. We also took a tour up to where they seperated the gold and it was so interesting. There were some really smart people in those days to figure out that process. It was totaly amazing. Here the kids are in the old jails.

Week-End in Montana

More cool pictures of the caves.

On Saturday morning we went to Lewis and Clark Caverns. They were so amazing and alot of fun. It takes about 2 hours to take the hike and tour but well worth it. It is so amazing. At one part of the cave you had to get down on your bum or bottom of your shoes and slide down what is called a beaver run. There were over 600 stairs to go down. At one point you are acutally farther in the ground than where the visitor center sits. It was way cool and fun.

We took the chance to get away for the week-end before school and harvest all starts. We had such a great time. We went to Virgina City and Nevada City and explored some of the old western day. The kids loved the taffy puller in the candy shop window.

Eggs Anyone?

We have an egg!! Dalan has kind of claimed the chickens as his and he has really enjoyed them. This morning he was outside working on the shop and he heard lots of noise coming from the chicken coop. He wondered if there was something in the coop having a snack so he ran over and found one sitting in the nesting box. She was just a crowing. He let her sit a few minutes and then checked and found an egg. A pretty brown egg. We are pretty excited.

The boys pack trip.

While the girls were at camp the boys took some time off to go on a pack trip. They had such a great time. They went up to Elk Flats and Garns and just enjoyed the beautiful mountains. They had a great time trying to pack Bailey's gentle horse. Ha ha, apparently he is a great kid horse but has not been packed before. He scattered things pretty good. It was something they could defiantly laugh about after the fact. The pine bough bed was not as good as promised Dalan had such a great time. Great memories and stories to tell.

Cement!

They came and did the cement on the 3rd. How exciting. It looks so good. The kids put their hands in the concrete. They put the door up when I was at Girls Camp. We will have to get a picture of the finished project. We went to IF on Saturday to buy electrical parts, and Stacy hopes to get started wiring it around getting ready for harvest. It will be a busy couple of months, we will see what we can get done.

Girls Camp

On Tuesday the 4th of August Bailey and I headed out to Girls camp in Darby Canyon. We had around 14 girls go and I think everyone had a great time. We had really cute sweat shirts and great food, and great leaders who put alot of time into it. On Thursday the last night we were there we got a total down pour. We had hail, wind, thunder, lighting, and lots of water come through camp. We improvised though and had some dry bedding brought up and a lot of the girls stayed in the lodge. Stacy was up that night for dinner and he ended up staying with Bailey and I in our tent, I think we were one of the only ones who did not get their bedding wet. It was a good week.

A Great Day.

We have had a busy busy couple of weeks, but it has been great. On the 29th of July Katie, Macie and Stockton came and stayed with us. We had a great time just hanging out and watching the kids. Stockton was starting to crawl and since then he is up on all fours going strong. We loved having them. Then on Sunday on the 2nd Wes and Mom and Dad drove down and all of Stacy's family came for Dalan's Priesthood ordination to become an elder. It was such a great time. It was so touching to walked into the chapel and see all of our family there. It brought tears to my eyes immediately which isn't hard since I am such a cry baby. The spirit was so strong and I am so proud of Dalan and his decision in life that he is making. He was able to help Wes give Stockton a blessing before they left home. (Stockton was sick and not feeling well, he would not stop crying and was having a hard time sleeping) Dalan is blessed to have great men in his life to look up to. Uncle Ryan, Uncle Jeff, Uncle Scott, Uncle Wes, Grandpa Lerwill, Grandpa Curtis, Bishop Berry, Brother Smaellie, Brother Kaufman, James Knight, and Stacy all stood in. We met at our house afterwards and ate and visited. It was a great day.
