Signs of Summer Flying By

Hay Stack off of the Campbell Place. Wow 372 1 ton bales.
Aren't these the funniest yet kind of cute critters. They live just below the Campbell Place. Alpaca Ranch

I love summer flowers. I tried the flowering cabbages this year and love them. They are so pretty. This one has grown since I took this picture. You can almost watch them grow

Bailey's Bleeding Heart. It kind of got worked over last year from the dogs, but has looked good again this year.

Curtis Family Reunion

We had a great Curtis Family Reunion. It was a great week-end and one that we all enjoyed. I have a totally awesome family and I love everyone of them. We had a great time visiting, swimming at the city pool, eating yummy food, visiting some more, and eating yummy food. Did I mention we ate really well. Thanks so much Brett and Misy for hosting this years reunion, you did an awesome job, it is a lot of work and we really appreciate all you did.

All because two people fell in love!
I have the most wonderful parents in the world.
Love you both so much.
Still think you should live here!
How wild!

JUST A SWING'EN

We have wanted to build a swing for a long time and we finally got it done. I have such an amazing husband that can do just about anything. He always amazes me. He is so talented with his hands and ideas. ( plus it is always how thrifty we can be!) It turned out so great. It will be a lot of fun. Can't wait for Dalan to try it out. He talked about doing this with his Dad before he left. Kaysha was here with us so she and Bailey got to take the first swing. I sure hope there will be lots of little and big kids that use this swing!

It's Official

Bailey got her Driver's License on Monday!! She is all good to go, license, on the insurance, and brother's pick-up is waiting. She turned her grades into the insurance and we even get a discount because of her good grade. Yeh, keep it up Bailey!

Stacy's Journal

Ok this is why it is so cool to keep a journal. First you document dates, events, etc. and then also your wife and children can read them years later. So cool. This is a journal that Stacy wrote very little in but has this entry that was a big deal. Pretty scarey. He would have been 10 years old.

October 3, 1977
October 4, 1977
October 5, 1977
I went with my grandmother and grandfather and sister to Henry's Lake fishhing. And then the wind was blowing when we put the to boat in the lake so we went for about one hundred yards and the morter was wide open and we was not hardly going. The little morter was dragging more about ten feet behind us. and then we came to dock and loaded up and went. up to quake lake and we saw the 300,00 ton rock. And then we went to West Yellowstone and fished there the next morning. we traveled throw west yellowstone and then we stayed there one knight and the next morning we went fishing until about three hour's and then we went to erwin. When we got to erwin we hooked up and then we had super and my sister said she had a headach. so she laded down and past out. and then me and my grandad were going to light the furnace and my granma had a headack and then she went to the bathroom and then she was going to go out side to get some fresh air but she fell on the bed I sleep on and then I went to help her and all most got there and I fanted and bumed by head.

Summer Bliss

Last night at about 8:50 we went for a ride in the rail. It was such a beautiful night. We were so amazed at how warm the air was. It was defiantly not typical Teton Valley air. It felt so good. The moon was so pretty and as we turned on the road that goes to Trupp's from the south we saw a herd of elk trying to make their way to the alfalfa fields. I tried to take some pictures but it was too dark. We came home and we lit off some fireworks we had found in our garage. It was a lot of fun.

Thoughts......

Wow, the last two days have been long, sunny, fun, exhausting, and a little frustrating but GREAT still the same. I have been thinking a lot about our way of life, our country life and how different it is than a lot people. I have had so many different thoughts but don't know if I can make any sense so here I will try. Life is really good when you can go with your husband, and daughter and work in the beautiful sunny mountains where we live. It is so cool to have to stop and talk to an neighbor who also works the land and provides meat and milk for our world. It is even neater when you stop to talk to that neighbor on the county dirt road and you talk for 15 minutes and never have to move over for traffic.  You see the beautiful crops of alfalfa and grain. You morn a little that it was 32 degrees or lower in certain areas, two nights in a row. You go to bed with the windows closed even, and it is the middle of July! You love it when you see the thistle's heads drop to the ground. Cringe a little when you see the blue tint in the grain in all the swale's.  You stress a little about the bills, especially seeing those blue tints and having the Simploit guy take you to lunch and then sit at your kitchen table to figure. Frustration builds when the cows get out and visit the neighbors yards, lots of fence down, phone calls made to the renter who does not run cattle like my wonderful Dad does. That is really weird for me. Sprinkler pipe need to be repaired and then moved morning and night over and over. Evenings are gone, when you get in at night it is almost bedtime. Movie watching is defiantly a winter evening activity instead of a summer activity. Chickens, pigs, dogs, horses, needing food and water. Eggs washed. Also the horses thought they needed an extra run down the driveway. Luckily they made a big circle and came back home. Wondering if Zip will be with us much longer. Our yard is beautifully mowed, (thanks Bailey) and flower beds watered and weeded. Rhubarb jelly makes hubby happy, free fruit for jelly doesn't get any better than this! First crops of currents and goosberries small but still there. Watching cherry tree grow and dreaming of cherry pies someday. Dill pickle sunflower seeds. First drivers license.Trees so green and sky so blue. Indescribable. Calm and peaceful, no airport noise or car traffic. Unless the Schwan man comes to see you. Ice cream and cool summer treats. But wait no milk products, kind of a bummer. Trips to town to get parts or FSA office (defiantly part of the frustrating parts of life) and visits to the fountain machine, cherry and vanilla adds and peperoni sticks. Yummy! Wondering should we, should we not, how can we, but how in the world can we not! Praying and pondering. Computing, trying to use our limited math skills. Ouch, should of got me a math tutor. Awesome computer that delivers mail to us instantly from Arizona. Tuesday is ALWAYS our favorite day now! Isn't technology wonderful! Evidence of blessings everywhere. Family, love, freedom, beauty, peace, shelter, food, water, clothes, church etc. etc. etc. So at the end of the night there are sunburned cheeks, dirt in your eyes, ears and hair, dirty dirty clothes and thankful for a modern day washer and dryer. The wash board at our house can have flowers on it and hang on the wall. Don't forget to check for ticks! Tired feet. Thankful for running water and a hot shower, soft bed and clean sheets. Grateful for time spent together, (mainline swing in the making), sacrifices from a wonderful husband and best friend. Time spent with a awesome daughter. Prayers sent to and answered from heaven for our son the Elder. Wow, what a lucky girl I am!
