Cowgirl

Here I go again, stealing pictures :0) Could not resist. Isn't this so cute. Macie had Grandpa Curtis call her Mom and tell her to come to the shop so she could show her something. Macie was riding Buddy all by herself with out a lead rope. She was even trotting. Cute, Cute & Cute
We ALL love Buddy! What a great horse!

WOW, sounds like all kinds of new and exciting stuff going on there for you guys! Thats so amazing about the posts from grandpa and grandma, thank you so much! that is absoulty amazing! hope everything comes together and works out on the farm with equitment and all the other eciting stuff that goes on! you all are in my prayers! it is so awesome to here how everything is going there for youguys and whats new! looks like bailey is enjoying skool! :) thats crazy that she is driving to skool!! i remember just like yesterday when i first started driving to skool! man, i had everything under control and i was too kool! now looking back on it it scares the crap out of me! haha

You asked if i got the thumb drive that you sent me and yes i did! the jerky was SO good, i loved it! :) in the next package yousend me there is one thing i would like to request, my harmonica please! :) thanks!

things are going awesome here! i got my bike back this morning and it works like a charm! the members that took it for me wouldnt let me pay for it... we get treated all too well here! its a real blessing! so that was good to get back, they tightend the front hub up and replaced the crank in it, so hopfull no more problems...ever! ha, ya right!

its crazy, foot ball season has started up here, so friday nights it is so hard to catch ppl at home! EVERYONE goes to the games, snowflake has a really good team!! they are a 3a skool and last weekend a 5a skool from the valley came up and they beat them! sounds like Teton ya?! ;) haha

Our baptism on saturday went so well! the progam and the speakers did so well and the spirit was so strong, for all of the convert baptisms, while they are getting back dressed into their dry clothes we give a 5 min lesson on the Resotoration! it was so powerful and it is always so kool to see people finally take that step! :)

Lindsey is doing so good! she wants to be baptised so bad!! she asked me to baptise her but her mom wont allow it right now! but she has such a testimony and her moms heart will soften and it will all work out! :) it was prety crazy, her grandma was a member and had gone though the temple and now she is X'ed from the church, but she took lindsey out to lunch the day of our last apt and she filled her head with a crap load of anti lies and crap, so as you could imagine, she had a lot of DEEP questions! but at the end of the lesson she understood and all was good! it was just kinda kool to see cause before she started asking us q's she told us that she had already prayed about them and knew that they were lies, but she just wanted us to clarify! what faith this girl has! its always amazing to me that every time we teach her I learn so much! she wouldnt think so, but she has streathend my testimony so much! its crazy how that works! haha,it will all work out in time! it would be so kool that when it does i could be apart of it! :) we'll see!

thats about all thatis new and exciting here! i find out saturday who my new comp is!! So excited, better than Christmas to get transfer news! haha, but alls well, elder mace started packing his bags last night......so that says alot about how he is doing! i am so ready for some one new! 12 weeks is a long time with some one you dont really get along with, but some how it always works out and i get though it! :)

well i better get going, i have a hair cut apt at 12:30 and we stil have to go shopping! today is going to be a suky pday cause elder mace has to get all his stuff together, mail bike and all that other fun stuff! but thats ok! :) OH and yes!! tell grandma that i would to be written!!!!! ;) haha, that would be great! :)

Well guys, have a wonderful, safe, fun, and happy week! your all in my prayers and i appreciate all youdo for me! thanks so much!

Spur of the minute week-end

Friday afternoon Stacy called me from the shop and said lets go to Twin to get posts from Dad. So I said o.k., called Bailey @ noon and told her to hurry home and we would go. So we left here around 4:30 and drove to Blackfoot where we met a guy who is going to fix our out to out air take on the Semi. This was awesome of him to meet us after hours. We dropped that off ate some supper at A&W and had yummy root beer in chilled mugs. We got to Hollister around 9:30. It was a fun week-end. Us girls went to town and picked up Bountiful Baskets and did some shopping. The boys took the kids (which was so fun for us). I was soooo excited found the most awesome deal at DI. A new Black and Decker Work Mate. I was so excited to give it to Stacy. I only paid $20.00! Katie also got a cool old metal bread box, can't wait to see what she will do to it that gives it new life. What color will it be???? I am still going to keep my eyes open for one for me. So cool. We also went to the fabric store and did some Christmas Shopping. Yes you heard me right, less than 4 months til Christmas. We also got to witness Macie and her brand new bike, so fun. Also Stockton is growing up so fast and he LOVES Stacy. It is so cute. They had great fun this week-end. The boys also went to Sportsman's and Wes bought a new gun, so they had fun too. Here goes all the pictures! Fun week-end.

Macie and her new bike.

August 25, 2010 First Day of School=Sophmore

Our baby driving to school, how did this happen?!
Bailey had a good first day of school. New principle appears to be a little odd, he wore yellow shoes and purple pants. The teachers said he wore orange shoes the other day. She said he seems like he is nice though. To each his own, right!
Too nervous to eat breakfast, yucky lunch, ate her chips only, came home and ate a whole box of macaroni and cheese. Organized her class information and supplies. This girl is amazing. Why doesn't she organize her mother and father. It was B day and she went to Study Skills, Spanish (which she is not excited about), English, and PE (excited about this class, sounds fun and she has it with Jess!)
A Day= Seminary, World Issues, Biology, and Algebra.

More of my random thoughts.......

I woke up this morning in a pretty good mood and was here in the house cleaning and you know the usual and also thinking about the last day before school starts. I have never been a mother that was excited to send my kids back to school. In fact it makes me really sad and I don't like it. Bailey read me a comment on Josh's facebook that made me really think and really SAD. Yesterday was his fist day back to school, he is the same age as Bailey (Sophomore) and he said that on his 20 minute bus ride to school he heard the f word 46 times. How sad. We were talking about this at lunch and our other nephew Justin was here with us and he made the comment that he heard at their youth conference that it is past the time that we just stand up for the right but that we must push back! It really scares me to think about all our youth and how strong they need to be in this world today. I know there are still lots of good but it just seems like the bad is more present anymore. I know we can't escape from it completely and that it is every where but I wonder when it will be time that we have to remove ourselves from things more. How we do this I am not sure but I think we will have to have a change from our regular way of thinking. Like what is more important in this life, change priorities, and not care what the other people of the world think of us. I don't think it will be easy but is anything easy in this life? Our families are so important and that is where we need to be is with our families and teach, teach, teach. And then teach some more. What a responsibility we have. I can't imagine how hard it is for our Heavenly Father to watch all of this that is happening today. I think of watching my kids and all of our nieces and nephews and how it is a worry and how you don't want them to lose their sweet innocence that they have as little children and how much we love them. We just have to try really hard and stay close with our Heavenly Father and be active in the gospel and things will be alright. We also need each other to help us in this journey. I am thankful for my wonderful kids and hope they know how much we love them and that we are here for them and would do anything for them. I am so proud of both of them and hope we have a great school year with Bailey. She is a strong spirit and will do good, I just wish it was easier for these good kids...........

Monday

Monday morning we woke up early and headed to IF to look for parts for the truck and then we went on to Pocky to the TMJ doctor. We met Katie, Grandma, and the kids there. It was so fun to see them. Stockton is changing so much just in the short 2 weeks since we have seen them. He is really starting to talk. It is fun to watch them grow. Macie is so excited to start school. How can that be. We ate at a Mexican place and went grocery shopping as Macie said to the craft store and then we headed back home and to pick up more parts. Then that night we took Bailey and Jessica to the movie in Victor. It was fun to watch  movie with a different genre than what we usually watch (chick flicks). It was Knight and Day and it was a action shoot em up kind of movie. It was fun.

Talk in church

On Sunday I had the privilege of taking in church. Usually I wouldn't think of it as  that but I got to talk about Dalan and his mission. I love how much information we have about him and how he is doing. It really strengths our testimony to hear about his spiritual experiences. We are so proud of him. Bailey sang with the Young Women's and they did a great job.

Saturday Evening Events

Saturday evening we went to Rexburg to watch the 4-H Rodeo. We stopped and had a hamburger at Wendy's and then went with Grandma Lerwill, Tukker, and Dillan. We had a great time. It was a beautiful evening.

Aug 24, 2010 Such a great letter.

1 peter 1:7
7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

Hello hello! wow what a sweet sweet week i have had here! things are going amazing and so much new stuff to tell you all about! so first off Lindsey, i am not sure what all i have told you about so here we go! :) Lindsey is absolutely amazing! the smartest girl ever, she is 15 and we have been teaching her for the past 2months! she is half way through Alma and she has such a sweet testimony and knows the church is true with out a doubt in her mind! she is so sweet! the only problem has been her mom, she is a member but is pretty anti! non too good of a home situation. she has been sooo scared to talk to her mom about it! we had a lesson with her last Tues on courage and faith, we shared a story out of numbers 13 and challanged her to talk to her mom and we also set a date for her to be baptised on Sep 4th! She was so excited and wants to get baptised sooo bad! :) the lesson went soo good and the spirit was so strong! after that we were in our next lesson (45 mins after Lindsey's lesson) and we got a phone call from Vanessa( her Felllowshipper/Friend) and she said that she had gone strait home and talked to her mom, well...it didn't go too well, her mom freaked and banned her from going over to Vanessa's house and from meeting with us! we were so depressed but we had faith that it would all work out some how! in the lesson we promiced her it would and it was a spiritual prompting to promise that, so we knew it would! we have been praying so hard and fasting this past week off and on, then 2 days ago we got a phone call from her and she said that her mom came up to her and told her that it was ok if she kept taking the lessons, and that she was supportive of her decision! so we set a up a lesson with her that night and it was so amazing! she is such a saint! her faith is so unshaken and has such a testimony! so we get to keep teaching her! its so kool to see, were not sure what her mom will think about baptism yet, but we have seen the Lord work miricles so far! :) so please keep Lindsey and her family in your prayers! :)

now some sucky news... haha, my bike has been having some issues so i had some members take it to show low to get worked on and the guy there was so shocked cause it is a brand new bike, but he said that it has tonz on miles on it and my front hub is shot...haha my luck, i know we do alot of biking out here but i had no idea that much, i have decided not to get a odometer...it would be depressing! haha, so for now i am borrowing elder Hudson's bike and his has a speed ometer and in one day we biked 36 miles! and it was a day that i felt like we didnt do too much biking! haha, so who knows how much we actually do. so hopefully i get it back and they can getit all fixed and it wont be too expensive! :)

some other bad news is that on wed. elder fairbank went to the doctor and they told him that he has sleep apnia, so they had to send him home to do a sleep test thing, he was so depressed but he will get back out soon! :)

had a freaking sweet thing happen this week, we had a member who was going to go out on splits with us for the night and so we were waiting for him out side our apt and then he pulled up in a 1967 barracuda! it was so sweet! he told us that he want ed to take the missionaries out in style! haha, it was such a sharp car and it ran and sounded so good, he told us that it almost ran so good that it was questionable to be street legal!!! it has a 440 in it and it is WORKED!! you name it, it has it! So fast it was scary! haha so that was a pretty sweet night on splits!!! :)

we found a new investigator last week, his name is Jacob Frost, he is 16 and is sooo solid, his family is LActive and he just was never baptised! we taught him last night and set a date for the 18th of sep! the spirit was way strong and he accepted! so he'll get baptised and reactivate his family all at the same time! :) its so amazing to see the change it people as they accept the gospel and find out for them self's that is is true! :)

Damon and Dillon are getting baptised this Saturday! they and and their family are doing so good! their parents havent been to churchin 10 years, but they have been there the past 3 weeks! they are doing awesome and are so excited to get baptised! :)

Its absolutely amazing how much we have been blessed with amazing people to work with here!

Ya i got your package! :) i loved it and i am so excited to have some goodies to eat during studies and planning! haha, thanks so much! that ketchup thing is pretty sick! haha, :) and the ear wig on the side is pretty sweet as well! ;) it made my day! now you have got me hooked on sunflower seeds again! but its a good thing to get hooked to!

that's too bad you haven't got a cat yet!! have they had any sign or have you sweet any more problems? that would be way kool if you could getem!!

The semi looks AWESOME!!!!!!! I love it! that will be soo nice to have! i am sure you will be able to unload it just as fast as the auger will take it!! that's way good! :)

no i hadn't heard that about Dave Hartshorn! i sure hope he is oK! sounds pretty serious. and no i have not heard any thing from Micheal yet either....but oh well, hope he is doing well! iff you see him tell him hi from me!

you asked me what i have learned from elder mace! wow, i have learned so much! at the beginning of last transfer i wondered if i was being disobediant or what i did wrong of if the Lord was just messing around and having fun by putting us together! haha but i have learned and grown so much with him! what i have learned most is within my self, i have had to pray and rely on the Lord SO much and by doing so it has made such a difference! i have learned alot about what kind of a missionary i Do and DOnt want to be! i don't ever want to be trunky or have people think i am hard to get along with! so ya, idk i have grown so much from him, its crazy cause he is exactly who i needed to be with to make me grow! which was freaking hard, and not how i would have chosen it, but fortunately the Lord knows and will do what ever will be best for me, Long and short term! :) so alls well here!

it was so good to hear from you, have a wonderfull week and good luck with all your every day challanges and be safe! :) I love and miss you all so much. appreshate all you do. keep up the good work and ill talk to ya soon!

Yum Huckleberries

We went for a dune buggy ride last night and tried to find some huckleberries. We found a few, not the best but they sure tasted good to us since we haven't picked any for a couple of years. It was a beautiful night and we had a great time. Wish it wasn't feeling so fallish. The nights and mornings are cooler, it smells of grain in the fall, just looks and feels like it is right around the corner.

Merry Christmas

Hey thought I would show you Stacy's Christmas Presents. ha ha
2 New tires for the Blue Truck

We sold the semi trailer and put a refurbished potato bed on it.
It looks so great. It will be a great addition to the farm.

Current Bushes

I planted 2 current bushes last year so we could have yummy jelly. Don't know if there is enough for jelly this year but how cool, they are so pretty.

that's crazy that baileys summer is already over and she is starting school again! time goes by fast, wow! i really hope that the new principal is a good one! :) what did you figure out with the grain? did insurance come appraise it and will they help out? it will all work out its just nerve racking! haha

Lindsey is doing so well, she still hasn't talked to her mom but she will soon. she has such a strong testimony of the BoM and prayer and J.S. Its always a blast to go teach her cause she always has sweet questions and loves learning! it is so much fun to see ppl change! :)

O.K I am tired.....

Please tell me it is worth it. Saturday we roasted green chile's and froze them. We had a 25 pound bag, yes call me crazy, and we got most of them done. So now I hope like crazy they are not too hot and we can eat them. We also did 4 doz. corn and put it in the freezer. Then today I got 14 pints of salsa done and we have the dehydrator going with a batch of jerky. We needed to clean out our freezer and get ready for the pigs and Bailey loves the jerky. I also picked up more strawberries and raspberries and I need to make jelly with them and with some cherries also. Lucky for me they are frozen so they can wait for another day. I've got all the chairs out of the dinning room and I need to got sweep and mop so that we can walk in the kitchen again. But I am drinking my water with lime and blogging for a quick break. But better hit it again. My feet say NO!

Oh, Stacy went up to check some fence this morning and just 200 yards or so from our house spotted a mountain lion. Great huh! Makes us all a little nervous.

Dalan Teaching US!

2 Corinthians 4:17&18
17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

18 While we look not at the things which are aseen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Tuesday's E-mail

2 Corinthians 4:17-18

hey,

sorry that i am emailing so late today. we went and golfed 9 holes this morning with a few of the other elders! it was a lot of fun and i only lost 5 balls! ;) haha, oh man, i am so sick right now because of the grain!! so you have crop ins. on it?! i really hope everything works out really well, it will its just always nerve racking... sorry to hear about dads back! is it getting better? i really hope so. mine was hurting this past week so i went to one of our ward mission leaders who is a chiropractor and he did it for me for free...wow do i ever miss barkdull!! he is absolutely amazing! i didn't leave hurting more but barkdull just does such a good job! i hope yours gets better soon!! ya i got your package this week! it was awesome, thanks so much for all the goodies and everything, wonderful snacks during studies! ;) i also gotta package from Wes and Katie and family! its amazing, they sent some gummy worms that were melted into a big blob and some other goodies along with a sweet summer picture book of the kids! :)way fun to see how much they have changed in the short time i have been gone! My collar bone is all good now! no tenderness or anything so i am back to normal, i can still feel a big ridge of calcium build up around it where it broke, but all good noW! :) This transfer ends on September 5th, they are 6 week transfers so 6 weeks from then and so on! the actual transfer is on the Tues after that date, so this one it is on the 7th, elder mace goes home and i will go down to the valley that Tues and pick up my new comp! :) so that is so exciting!!!

so you asked about all the ppl we are teaching so.... Charlie is doing well, we have a lesson with him this week and we will be teaching tithing witch we know is a big hold up so hopefully we can help him realize that what is holding him back isn't that biga deal, well it is but help him realize the blessings that will come from living the gospel! :) Jenel has not made it to church yet so we have had to drop her for a while but she has lots of active member friends who are still working with her so she will come around in time! Damon and Dillon Ellison are doing really well, their whole family made it out to chrch this past week so if they keep it up they should still be good for their date on the 28th of Aug! we have a lesson with them tonight at 6 so that's way exciting! :) probley my favorite investigator right now is Lindsey Webb, she is absolutely amazing!!! she is 15 and sooo smart! she is so ready for baptism and wants to sooo bad, but the thing is that her mom is not aware that she is meeting with us...which is a problem! haha, so hopefully she will talk to her mom before our next lesson this sat and things will work out. she is at the beginning of Alma and loves reading, knows its true and knows what she needs to do, but is scared spitless to talk to her mom! which i cant imagine doing so ya, she is amazing and doing so well, pray for her and her mom! :)

we have had a crazy week with dinners!! we have had steak like 4 days in a row... that's not so nice on the gut and sucks when your on a bike! haha, we ate at the Hollands on Friday night and they cooked a boneless top sirloin steak that was the biggest steak i have ever seen in my life, bro and sis Holland and there 3 kids all shared one steak then they cooked a whole one for each of us....i was sooo sick and miserable! haha, it was HUGE! ppl are so generous its not even funny, sometimes i wish some one would just cook us some simple hot dogs of cheese burgers rather than getting out the china and cloth napkins! haha :) we are treated all too well! :)

so needless to say, things are going really well here! i hope that everything works out for you with the crops, your in my prayers daily! i hope you have a wonderful time at Wes and Katie's, I'm sure you are, those kids are too cute not to have a blast! :) keep your chin up, rely on the Lord and keep moving forward, that's about all you can do half the time, but the Lord will provide a way, most of the time it is a HUGE test of faith but it will all work out! :) it was wonderful to here from you! have a wonderful day and please be safe! i love and miss you all so much, thanks for all the support!! :) keep healthy and in touch!

Bear Lake, Post Storm. Twin Falls

On Saturday we were getting ready to go to Bear Lake to spend a couple of days with Stacy's brothers and sister and families. Stacy's back attacked him and put him basically down. So Sunday we decided not to go to Bear Lake. We didn't know how he would be and I really didn't want to be camping and have him be totally miserable and hurt. So Sunday we were already out of our church obligations so we just stayed low and did nothing and relaxed. Monday came and we kind of did the same nothing, trying to give his back some time to heal. He made a trip to Barkdull and I think it helped. Well Monday night the storm hit that took our crops so we decided to leave Tuesday morning and go to Twin and see my family there. Figured a couple of more days rest would help the back and it was just too plan depressing to stay home. We got back yesterday and we had a great time visiting everyone. The kids are so cute and Macie was so excited to get Bailey's swing. That is all she wanted to do was to swing. So we spent plenty of time out watching her. The weather was wonderful while we were there. I couldn't believe how nice it was for August in Twin. So pleasant, not too hot at all. Stacy didn't even complain, so you know it was cooler than warmer. It was hard to be home today, in fact I think Bailey probably wishes she lived with someone else. Stacy and I have been a little on the grouchy, depressing side. I guess our faith is just being tested. The crops don't look good at all! I hope it all works out some how.?? It is hard to understand.
On to happier things here are some really cute pictures I took of the kids.

Thursday August 5,2010 Bar J Wranglers

Cary, Stephanie and family came and camped up Horseshoe Canyon again. It was so fun to see them and spend some time with them. Thursday we went to Jackson to the Bar J Wranglers. That was so fun, it has been years since we have been there. The food was great, the singers were awesome and it was fun to spend time with the Curtis Crew.

WHY???

Barley all gone!
This is the remaining fall wheat.

This is hard to understand! Stacy figures that most of all our home place(1000 acres) is between 80-90 % gone. There are places where you can not see ANY heads. I don't know what to say. :(
Oh Hail!

This is what it looked like here at the house. It hailed even harder down at the mailbox and elevator. Stacy said there was 3-4 inches of hail in the road.
