We grew our own Easter grass. It was fun to watch it. I guess I should say Easter Wheat!

Happy Birthday Stacy
We love you and all you do for our family. On the Saturday before his birthday we went to Rexburg and saw a chick flick. What a great guy! Then on Monday for his birthday I cooked steak, potatoes, salad, rolls, veg's, Verna came and ate with us. Bishop and Michelle and Josh came out and we shared cherry cheescake with them.
A cool spotlight was from Dalan
A cool headlight was from Bailey.
Stacy should not be in the dark any more!
He also got a pair of pants and shirt and a new drill press.
We had o have it ordered in so he hasn't got that yet.

First Letter YEH!
Dad, Mom & Bailey and whoever else!
How is everything going at home? I am going to try and get this in the mail soon so you all can know how I'm doing. It's werid not being able to just call! ha ha, But ya I am doing good, its going a lot eaiser and better that I thought! I can really feel all your prayers. So let me tell you about my first day. It was VERY busy, 5 mins after drop off we were being ran through alleys and pens like a bunch of freshly weened calves! ha It was pretty crazy. We got name tags, books and a big packet with kinds of material. Also got a pic taken. Then we sat through a 2 hr orentation meeting! It was extrememly hot in there. The food is good but it will defiently plug you up!haha, but seriously! My comp is Elder Vigil. He's from Wichita Kansas! He's way kool and we get along great! Our whole room and most our Distric is going to Mesa so its way kool! In our room there is elder Vigil, me, elder Richards, and elder Dickson! Everybody is way kool and we get along great! They have your entire day planned for you, every step, you just have to show up! haha, we only have about 30 min @ night and morning for personal, and in tht 1 hour we have to shower, study and last night we unpacked. And dad, there were notes in covers above the desks! haha ours hadn't been checked since 2000. So that was kind of fun! I'm learning a lot and surprisingly really enjoying the MTC experience. The spirit is so strong here and it's actually kind of fun! haha, there is lots of role plays and activities so they keep you hoppin!:) which is good! I'll see if I can get this mailed soon so you can know I am well!:) Be safe and I'll try to not get too fat! I need my pants to fit :) haha, I'll write again soon.
Love!!

Departure Date
Well winter decided to set in on us again. It was snowing and blowing again very hard. We had huge white, wet flakes coming down. It made us wonder about our trip to Utah. We picked Bailey up from school at 1:00, her lunch hour and we(Stacy, Brenda, Verna, Dalan, & Bailey) went to President Kunz's office at the Stake House. He met with Dalan for a short interview and then we all went into his office and he had each of us give our testimonies, then he set Dalan apart as a missionary. Wow. It was a wonderful blessing. Again I will say he will be a great missionary. We then left hoping the roads would be o.k. Luckily for us the further we got out of the valley the better they became. It was a fun trip down talking and enjoying time together. We stopped at Brett and Misty's house to return Cole's belongings that he had left from the week-end. We got to show Verna their beautiful yard and Brett's amazing work. He is so talented! We then went to Salt Lake and met Shirly and Jim Brock, Sarah, Rebecca and kids, Crystal, Marlyn & Jim Barnes and Tami and Travis and kids at Golden Correl. We had a great time eating and visiting with them. We then went on to Provo and got to our motel around 10:00. We settled into our beds but this was after they gave us keys to a room someone else was already in, luckily they caught us before went to the room. After we got into the right room well someone else was trying to get into our room. We didn't know what to think, but it all worked out o.k. Anyway we all layed in bed and talked about how we could not believe we were there doing this. I don't think any of us slept very well. It was a long night. That morning we slept in some and just relaxed a bit before grabbing a bit to eat at the motel. We then went and drove up to the Provo temple and took pictures and walked around. It was such a beautiful day. Totally different from the day before with the winter storm. We then went and ate a quick bite at Wendy's and drove to the grass between the MTC and the temple and said our good-byes. It was really hard, we are so going to miss him and it is not easy. Can't believe this is what we wanted. We drove him to the MTC and all got out and got his bags out, one last quick hug and he was gone. So So HARD! As we turned the corner we saw Luke Strong waiting to help other missionaries. We yelled out our window and talked to him. He said he would check on Dalan. That did help me feel a LITTLE better. It was kind of a quiet trip home. Today is Friday and we can't wait to hear from him. It is so hard, I hope we can all adjust and that time will quickly go by. A friend of ours told us it was explained to her as MISERABLE JOY, boy is she right. She sent out 5 missionaries. We have already told Bailey she can not go, and I am so glad we only have one boy. :)
Snowy yucky day!

Monday April 12, 2010
Monday we continued to help pack Dalan's bags but before he could leave Bishop Berry and Michelle wanted to take him to Chiz's in St. Anthony to eat shrimp. So the three of us met them there around noon. It was fun, they are such good people and friends. Bishop has been so good to Dalan and they really are good friends. Yes the shrimp was awesome, yum it was so good. After we got home Dalan went and picked Bailey up at school for the last time for a couple of years. They are such good friends and I am so thankful for that. For family home evening we had Grandma come over and we ate hamburgers and visited. We were planning on giving Dalan a blessing and Mitch and Juli Smaellie stopped by to wish Dalan good luck. So it was perfect that Mitch could stand in and help. They are also really great people and friends to us and also Dalan. We are blessed with great friends. It was really enjoyable to visit with them. Stacy did such a great job with the blessing and the spirit was really strong. Dalan will be a great missionary. It was kind of hard knowing that it was his last night home for awhile.
Farewell April 11, 2010
Dalan's Farewell was on April 11, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. in the Tetonia Chapel. He did such a great job on his talk. He looked so handsome and you would not have guessed he was even nerveous. What a great support of family and friends showed up in support of him. I hope he realizes how much he is looked up to and loved. We met here at the house and had a feast of yummy food. There were so many people here, we even had people eating in the laundry room. Crazy. It was an awesome day, we counted around 85 people who were here for lunch. It was great.

Saturday Sledding
Saturday morning Stacy said lets go sledding. It was a beautiful sunny day, not a cloud in the sky. Oh we had so much fun. The snow was so slick and smooth and fast. Who needs Lagoon. They even talked me into going with Stacy once. It was so fast and we probably were going a good 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile down the hill. It was so much fun to be outside enjoying each other knowing our time was limited.
