E-Mail June 1, 2010 Spiritual Experiences

hey all! :) it was great to hear from you in your emails and see the pics! Stockton is so cheesy in that one pic! haha, thats crazy cause i dont realize how much i miss the mountains until i see pics! haha but alls good and things are going so great here! the area is growing and getting busier and busier! we just we taught over 25 lesson last week so that was good! :) we just got out of the temple! it was amazing. it is so pretty. i didnt get to go through a session cause there were to many ppl so me and elder edmonds did baptisms for the dead! it was great! we were the only ones doing them so we each did 50 confirmations and 50 baptisms! it was a lot of dunking, but such a neat experience! :) this week it has been warming up, its been in the mid to high 80's everyday but it gets down to 45 at night so we open up windows and its not bad! :) kyle is getting baptized on the 11th so that will be amazing. and we set another date last night with jenel for july 3!! so excited. its amazing to see the change that the gosple makes in ppls lives! :) on wed. we taught the law of chastity to doug and katlyn bryant and we talked about how that also includes movies and music you watch and listen. it went really good then we left cause we had another apt right after and after that one we seen katlyn walking down the street so we went and talked to her and she told us that they had thrown away 26 movies and a bunch of CD's!! it was amazing! they are doing so well! :) then bradie bryant we taught as well and we are going to set a date with her tomarro! it so great to see ppl learn and change! :)

on weds. for lunch we went to Ava's Mexican restaurant for dollar taco's(so good) and the owner is this religious catholic woman! there are all these pics of Christ all of the walls and scriptures! haha it's funny, but any ways we went in there and ordered and ate and then we asked for the ticket and she said that some one covered it...which isn't uncommon from members, but the catholic owner said she really appreciates what we do and it was the lest she could do! so the support here is amazing! from members and non-member alike! its so kool! :)

last night we went on splits cause we had 4 lessons planned for 2 hrs in a row so i went with brother preswich and our first apt dropped cause of a death that happened in the family so i didnt really know where to go cause we had55 mins before our next lesson so we started driving and i had this really strong feeling that we needed to go visit this lady who is a potential! she wasn't even on our schedule but i knew that we needed to go visit her, so we did and as soon as she seen me get out of the truck she just started bawling!! she said that we couldn't have come at a better time. she later explained that if we would have stopped by yesterday that she wouldn't have been interested or open with us teaching her, but that day she had some things happen to her that softened her heart and she realized that it was true and that she needs the gospel!! :) it was the neatest experience! so wen i got back with elder Stewart i told him what happened and so we are going back to teach her Friday! SO KOOL! :)

Also the other day in church after i spake a man came up to me and said that he had family in driggs...which always makes me happy cause more than likely i have known all of them! :) it was Greer Jones, that works at Ace hardware's nephew! haha, so that always kool to find out! :) and grandma Lerwill... do you have a good friend that you grew up with by the name of Lewis Miller?! :) well his son is in my zone! way nice kid! :) so its way fun to run into ppl that know ppl i know! haha if that makes any sense! :)

today is our zone activity, were going paintballing with sling shots, dont know if i am going to be able to pulll a sling shot but ill try. and then we are going zip lining! there is a member who has a huge 200 yard zipline that he is letting us come go on so that will be fun! :) then after we are having steak and potato salad!(a bishop owns a butcher shop!;))

so in the pics you sent...is that a street sign up by the Francis Ard place?!?...haha, and the bed for Stockton looks AMAZING!!! you like all the new tools! looks like its been a little wet there. sorry to here, are you gonna be able to finish up in a few days if the weather will cooperate?! :) hope so! bailey your room looks so good and it looks like you had a good time with the kids! they are sooo cute! :) how bad was the drill stuck?! haha and where at?! did the fall wheat come up?

And jeff, just so you know...i gave out your website for your elk ranch the other day! haha

so im still thinking about you all! :) thanks for all the support and love shown from all! its really encouraging and comforting to know that life is still going on some where besides the mission! haha :) and elder stewart flies out on the 15th i believe. have you called his mom?! if you cant make it to his homecoming be sure that you get a hold of him at some point in time! his talk will be amaizng! he is such a good speaker and talk about know scriptures! haha i feel so inferior teaching with him, but i'm learning so much and i love it down here! (dad and grandma, the other day i seen a snake about 4 feet long in the road!...;) haha, but there all over so its getting to where its not too big of a deal unless they are close... haha! :) I cant believe it but there is 2 weeks left of this transfer! new comp and all so that will be a little crazy! :) but things are going amazing and i love it here! take care and be safe! cant wait to here from you! take care and have a good one!

Love Elder Dalan Lerwill

Cache Clawson Cemetery

Sunday evening we went to the cemetery and saw Garry's headstone. It is beautiful and turned out so good.

Memorial Day Week-End

Rainy, wet, and typical Teton Valley Memorial weather but we were so excited to have the Panter's come and visit us. It was pretty low key, but we had a great time. Even between pink eye episodes. Katie brought some crafts and we had a good time cutting out paper dolls on the cricut, aren't they sooo cute! Almost as cute as the real versions they have. It was lots of fun.

New Tools

Stacy was browsing through Craig's List (This isn't always very safe for the pocket book!) and came across this guy who was getting divorced and had to sell his tools. How sad for him, but lucky for us. It was a great deal and a upgrade for us. Now we just need to sell our old ones! What a dream come true for us, we have talked about this our whole married life, it is really exciting.

Here is a Toddler Bed that Stacy and Wes built over the week-end for Stockton. Isn't is it so cute!

Farming

We have been putting our crops in the ground forever. Today we might see an end!Yeah. It has been so rainy and hard to find very good days but we won't complain, the moisture is great. Yesterday it rained so hard here at the house and in all different places in the valley but a miracle happened and Stacy was able to stay out of the down pours and ran all day. He got around 300 acres drilled yesterday. Lisa called him and I think she was right when she said that Dad was up in heaven parting the clouds for us. Thanks Garry, we love and miss you!

Where does time go?!

As I drove by our "little kids" sign the other day I had the thought I should take a picture. (It says Caution Little Buckaroos at Play) Oh it makes me so sad that my kids aren't this age anymore! What fun times. The sign is getting faded but we are now on to a different stage which is also fun. I love my kids!

OK this is a tree that Stacy carved our names into over by where Garry and Verna's house now is. Back then it was just over in Dude. This was in 1992, how can that be? Dalan was around 1 year old. Anyway the tree fell over this winter and is rotten but Stacy brought the bark over and we got this picture. Sweet huh!
