E-Mail 3-14-2011
Hello there, how are you all doing? looks white there! haha, that is for sure the oppisite of where i am at right now! this week things sure have turned a 180! it has been breaking 90's everyday and for some stupid reason it keeps getting warmer! crazy. WOW, the cabinets look amazing! the counter tops look so good withthe paint color and the wood stain! look so good! hope it all went smoothly getting them in! :) that email yousent me about that elk was crazy, i cant believe that it kept living, i am sure he wanted to just die, that would be so misrable! haha
Well there hasnt been too much new happening here this past week but we have been running around like crazy!
this whole week has been Leadership Training Meetings and so that has filled up my whole week, this time i went and elder paiz stayed and went on exchages with other elders in the zone. the meeting were Tues-Fri, 8-4... long days! but they were really good, probley the best session i have been to! president ellsworth is so awesome. he is a amazing person and they have a wonderful family! i look up to and love them so much. so this session of meetings it was all of the elders and sisters that have not had the chance to go to them yet so there was a lot of newer missionaries there. there was 80 missionaries there so quite a few. it was a great expirence to go and be a part of. it was way fun because when you go as a zone leader you actually get to partisapate in everything that is happening. i got to go up in frront of everyone and do a role play and teach. kinda nerve racking but way fun. i also got to conduct the meeting one day. it is so wonderful to have presidents trust! i am so thankful for him and all he does. but it is really scary some times how much he trusts us and unfortuantly some missionaries have abused that. sucks to see!?
had kind of a sad thing happen last week, a elder that i came out with that was in our zone, elder pierson, was playing soccer and i am not sure what happend but he messed up his knee real bad so he is going home for surgery! way heart breaking to see that happen to anyone!
i cannot believe at how fast time is flying by! March is already half over! elder paiz goes home in not too long, on the 5 th of April. he is still working hard but he sure is getting worked on. he says that he feels the end coming and wants to slow down and take it easy but he is still keepin up the good work and being obediant! :) so i hope i get another amazing companion! :) but ill deal with what ever!? :)
We had kinda crazy thing happen to us on saturday night. Matthew who has been baptised sence september wanted to go and watch the joseph smith movie with us at the visitors center so we picked him up and and took him there and on the drive there he was acting really wierd, aking weird quesions, not understanding what we were saying and we were having a hard time figuring our what he was saying too. he was just acting really wierd. so we didnt think too much of it. we went in and started the movie and about 10 mins into it he said he needed to go get a drink of water so he left. about 5 mins after he left me and elder paiz both had the immpression to go and check on him so we walked out and we couldnt find him! he had booked it. the sisters that were working at the front desk said that he came out really mad and then ran out and down the road. we were so confused!? we drove around for about 30 mins looking for him and he doesnt have a phone so we couldnt call him. we couldnt find him any where and we had no idea what was going on?! we get a phone call from him the next morning and he just talked to us like nothing had happened and then just as fast he got mad agian and started yelling at us over the phone then hung up!? so we have no idea what is going on but some thing mental there, either that or a whole lot of weed...which is a good possibility! so we'll see how it all pans out! just really wierd. so moral of the story...dont do drugs! haha :) on a better note,.
Sara Grahm got interviewed on saturday and is good to go for this friday! we are so excited for her and nathan! they will be getting married on saturday and they moved the wedding from where she was going to have it to the stake center here so me and elder paiz can go to it! :) so excited for them! wonderful people and they will do great! they both have been so prepared for this part in their lives!
Lee recieved a calling on sunday!! we were kinda shocked that they did so soon but she is soo solid and out going it is just what she needs. they put her on the Relief Socity commitee! she was so excited and it is great to see her progressing so good! she is an amaizng individual!
I sure hope that you got my package that i sent to ya and you have enjoyed the pics and everything that was in there! :) i have been wondering if it got there yet!? I am sure you all are really busy there and there is alot stuff keeping you busy! so no worries. but drop me a letter and let me know what all is going on there! :)
I hope that your happy and well! i pray for you always and know that we are both being blessed so much! keep strong and use the tools that God has given us to help us stay strong, we need all the help we can get in this world full of confusion and kaos!(pretty crazy, the whole earth quake/tsunami thing happening in japan! really sad!) keep up the good work and keep in touch! i love and miss you all so much! hope you get some of our sun shine soon and things will be a little bit more enjoyable for ya there. before youknow it things will be greening up, mud dry and roads dusty and Bailey will be out of school! ;) keep it up and i'll talk to you soon! take care,

Jacee
This is a talk that Jacee gave in sacrament meeting about her cedar chest she made with Stacy. She made some great analogies that are really true to our lives.

Last year I got the opportunity to build a cedar chest with my Uncle Stacy. I worked really hard to save enough money to buy the essentials needed to build it. I finally saved enough and we went to buy the wood. There where so many choices: oak, hickory, pine, alder, cherry and on and on. Then there were different types of oak hickory, ect. I thought I knew exactly what I wanted, but I had no idea there were so many choices. After much contemplation I chose the wood, I wanted. I chose Cherry with walnut trim. My Uncle Stacy lives in Tetonia so in order to work on it I had to go up there. The first time I was up, we cut the boards. The second time we ordered them the way I wanted, centering the coolest looking pieces and trying to make the grains line up right so the board doesn’t’ curve.. Over the course of many visits, it started to take shape. We glued sanded, cut more and sanded more. We put on hinges and picked out the stain. (This took awhile because I could not decide.) Finally, it was finished and now I get to see its beauty every time I walk into my room. Building my Cedar Chest is a lot like living your life. When you are small, your family is there to support you. When you glue it, you put a whole bunch of clamps on it so it dries right. The clamps give it support and after some time when the glue is set up you take the clamps off and it will hold together on its own. Then it is sanded. Sanding is like baptism it takes out the bumps and dings. An important part of the cedar chest is the base; it is the foundation of the structure that keeps it standing upright and able to hold the weight of what is placed inside. The base is like the gospel or Heavenly Father and Jesus. They are a firm foundation that helps us to carry our burdens. They are the base of our lives; they hold us up and keep us strong. One of the chances you take using real wood is that there could be holes in it or knots that fall out when you are sanding them that leave holes. You have to putty the holes and start sanding over that spot again. Just like in life when you make a mistake you can use the Atonement as your patching putty and start over. I did not know exactly what I wanted the base to look like so we just started playing with some wood. My Uncle Stacy cut out one side and I really liked it so he free handed the other side. You could not even tell the difference, they were not more than a mm off. Sometimes in life we just have to free hand it, just try something and if it works great if not figure out something else to try. We have to do our best and God will do the rest. It’s not whine and complain and he will do it all.. The pieces are all together all you have to do now is stain it and put the finishing touch on. When we keep the commandments and do what the Lord asks us to, we are putting that beautiful finishing touch on our lives. When the day comes, we will be ready to present the beautiful project to the Lord. . I am so grateful for the opportunity I had to build a cedar Chest and learn how to work with wood. I am thankful for life and what a beautiful gift it is. Life is Gods gift to us, what we do with it is our gift to God. Make it something amazing and beautiful.

Here is the wood (Alder) and melamine we bought to do the project.
Stacy built the bottom cabinets first.

Then we glazed them all. The one on the left is with the glaze and the one on the right is not glazed (more orange looking)

Then we waxed them. Ready to hang.
Scot and Dani Green came out and helped us hang them. Yeah, thanks a bunch!

AFTER
Bailey and I spent Saturday afternoon and got some stuff in the cabinets. So awesome, so much great space. We went to Rexburg to DI and found the office chairs. How totally awesome. We didn't have plans on buying chairs because of money so we were so excited to buy these three for $30.00.

In the corner Stacy made really long drawers (we didn't waste any space) and my cricut mats fit perfect, even my 24 inch long mat. So cool.
Look, I even have empty shelves, how cool is that!

Redneck Family Reunion
Yes we have been cleaning and rearranging our new space downstairs. Can't wait to post pictures of it, but I am waiting to get a great after picture. Bailey found this paper, I love it. She wrote it in 2006.
My Favorite Family Reunion

My family was in charge of the Lerwill Reunion last summer. Our tradition is we go camping but we wanted to go somewhere new. We had heard about Egbert Springs, so we went and looked at it and fell in love with it. We held it there in July of 2005. It was so fun! It was a big meadow next to the Henry's Fork. There was a small pool for the kids to play in and a big swing set. Our theme was Hawaiian, so I taught my cousins how to hula. We had lots of games like a Pinata, bike rodeo, pin the banana on the palm tree, treasure hunt, balloons and a three legged race. There were lots of prizes like; tattoos, water bottles, candy, water toys, and hula skirts. One night we watched a movie on a white sheet. It was "Fat Albert". One day we killed two turkeys. It started like this: my Uncle Jeff sat on the turkeys, took his knife and slit the turkey's throats. We drained the blood and gutted it out. All of the cousins helped pluck the feathers. We deep-fried it for supper. My family joked, "You know you are a redneck, if you kill a turkey at your family reunion". It was a family reunion no one will forget and my favorite one.

email 3-7-11 Doing great and more baptisms!
Hello! how are you all doing there? ihope youare all well and happy! :) sounds like everything there is coming along and your gettng a lot accomplished! i cant wait to see pics of the cabinets and stuff! that will be great to get in and organized. Well everything will work out with samantha, dont worry about anything with your friendship cause it wont effect it at all. that is one of the biggest fears of members doing missionary work is that their friends wont talk to them anymore and i have never seen that happen. the worst is they say no! so just keep being a example and it will work through time! :)
Sounds like things are staying white there for you. that is so crazy, i cant even imagine, it has been really warming up here. mid 80's almost everyday...now if it would just stay there all summer i would appreceate that! :) haha,
this moring we went to this gymnastic place that a member owns and we got to go play on all the stuff! it was a BLAST. they have huge skate bording park inside and all the gym stuff. so we were up on monkey bars doing back flips into the foam pit and messing around! it was a lot of fun! tiring! haha, we are going to go shopping after this, get new shoes and some food then we are going to another game today! it was so much fun just chilling so we wanted to do it again. The cubs are playing the angels so it should be a really fun game to watch! :) so hopfully we can relax and have a enjoyable day!
this week has been really amazing, we have seen so many miricles and been so blessed! so to start off i will fill you in on Lee..
Lee is in her 60's and was raised catholic, she has known lots of members in the past few years and started asking questions and just investigating from her closet! haha, she has been so prepared! so bro paul greer is a member in one of our wards and his wife passed away in may of last year and they started dating kinda and he has been able to help her so much! he called us and said he had a friend who wanted to take the lessons so we went over and set up a time. from the very first time i met her i knew that she was elect and was going to do amazing things in the church. we set a date on the first lesson and things just took off from there!
the baptism went perfect. there was nothing that we would change! pauls son Chris has been in prison for the past 4 years but has got out and straitend up his life and was able to baptise her! it was so touching to see! i have a really good realtionship with him and we just really click well together so it has been really fun to get to know and work with the whole family! the sprit was so strong there and all 3 of them bore their testimonies at the end and i dont think there was a dry eye in the room!
her confermation was just as powerful and paul performed that! so it was incredible to see! great saturday!
I told them that you would be writing them and they are looking forward and excited to hear from you! there address is: 1555 E. Fountain, Mesa AZ, 85203! they are amazing and i thought it would be kinda fun for you to be able to get to know and communicate with some of these people i am working with! :)
and now to add to that. Wendy and Caylee Ramero were also baptised in snowflake on saturday! i wasnt able to make it back up to that on but i got a phone call and heard all about it! so exciting, i worked withthem for 4 months before i left and they have came such a long ways sence then! i am so excited for them! So needless to say it has been a awesome week!
we have been still finding more ppl to teach and help!
David Jordan recieved the Aaronic priestood on sunday and we got to go and stand in on that! it was really neet to hear him bare his testimony and see the 180 degree change that has happend in himself and his family! so great to see :)
well i dont much else to fill you in on! i am doing well and healthy, i havent checked on my supplies in a while, i think i am stillgood on everything! i will look today and write you a letter and let you know! if i ever need any thing quicker and need to let you know i will let the mission home call you and let you know or have a member do it. but i will be more prepare that that! ;) haha, but iwill let youknow in my lettter!
