Bailey's Young Women group went and learned how to milk cows by hand.
The Laurel group of Bailey, Carolann Bell, Sahvanna McDonald, with leaders Bobby Douglass and Regina Beard went on a horse ride tonight. They had a great time.

BEETS AND CURRANTS
Friday before we left to go camping I picked my currants off my own currant bushes. Cool huh! I juiced them and made some syrup and we took it camping. It was yummy delicious on our corn bread!
On Monday I picked what little beets I had and took a stab at doing pickled beets. I didn't have very many good sized ones, so for a whole batch of beets I only got 3 pints. They do look good though. I thought well maybe I will just buy beets at the case lot sale. But tonight I was talking to Stacy and I just might try it again next year. Yes call me crazy. Especially since I will probably be the only one who eats them!

E-Mail Aug. 15, 2011 Great Spiritual Miracles, Loving his new Comp. Elder Ricks
Wow it sounds like you have a great weekend there and have got a lot accomplished. that's so awesome to hear that your getting all that fun stuff in before school gets going. I cannot believe it is that time of the year again. with school and dad getting ready for harvest it doesn't seem real that it could really be that time again! school started here in AZ last week so everyone is full blast into that routine. keeps people busy and makes it a little more difficult for people to have time to meet with us but we are staying so busy. we have a wonderful week and have seen so much good stuff happen! I am so sorry, this morning elder ricks and I took some pics to send home and i forgot my camera so it will have to be next week! we got some good ones. I love elder ricks so much. we are having a blast together and we have the same work ethic so it is really fun to be together. He reminds me a lot of Wes! haha, just some of the things he does and just his personality. i think you'll see it when i send a picture! it's a blast! this is going to be one of the greatest transfers of my mission! yes we went into the mtc together but we were in different districts so we didn't see each other very often but we were around each other. its so much fun serving with some one that you came out with and especially sense we are both from ID. haha, we get a lot of crap about that just because there are so many missionaries here in this mission that are from ID. some one asked us what we wanted for dinner and we said Funeral Potatoes and they said WHAT? haha, different cultures in the same country, we will be eating those tonight at a part member families house. should be a ton of fun and good food. :)
Well we have seen some sweet miracles this week. it was so awesome. we went over to visit a part member family that we have been working with, i think i have told you about them in the past but they are the Case's. he is a RM and was a awesome missionary but has just fallen away and has 2 unbaptized kids. they are an amazing family and are coming along great. so we went over and were just visiting in the living room and the 11 year old girl named Megan had her BoM out and they weren't expecting us to come by. so we asked her if she had been reading and she said that they had so that got a good conversation going. we read with them Alma 7:11-13 and closed our books and were talking about Christs atonement and how important it is and out of no where the 9 year old son Alex said "hey, i want to read one more verse." he continued to read vs 14 in Alma 7, it got quite as he read and the spirit filled the room. everyone was completely intent. he finished reading and i asked him what it meant and he said exactly what it meant. we talked a little about baptism and then invited him to be baptized with his sister on September 10th and they both accepted! It was so amazing to see the spirit work through this young boy in a way that he was lead and prompted to read and say exactly what was needed and the right time. because of this experience (Dad) Gary is on board and ready to come back. he asked us to come by and teach them twice a week and help him come back and his kids prepare for baptism. they are amazing and will do great things. so exciting for them!
We had another miracle happen last night. we had received a referral from one of our members to go try and teach one of their friends Sherry and Frank. So we went by on weds and visited with them on the door step and they were very bold in declaring that they are Baptist and happy. but something still kept there attention. there were probably 10 times in the first 2 times of meeting them before they were taught about the restoration that i thought that we were going to loose them. They kept throwing all this anti at us and just not no open to change, but they still kept asking questions and that's what it took in order for us us to get in the door. So yesterday as we sat in their kitchen, bibles open and talking, we finally had the opportunity to share the restoration. it was one of the most powerful experiences ever. as we explained the apostasy and the development of other church's they seen how it made sense. nodding their heads occasionally but not very intent. I shared with them Josephs experience and after i was finished they were pretty quite. After testifying to them that i knew that it was true, i asked them what it would mean to them if they knew that Joseph Smith was a prophet and the BoM is true and her reply was "Well...i guess it would mean i would need to be a Mormon." it was pretty sweet. one of those lessons you leave giving high 5's and feeling fulfilled in purpose! it was great!
there are so many things that happen like this that i don't have the time to type them all up. It is such a humbling experience being a missionary and seeing all the blessings that come to people through the Gospel. we have found 4 new investigators this last week and we have some new ones coming this one so we are being so blessed! :)

I couldn't ask for better support. i hope that the equipment continues to come together and you can get everything ready and good to go!
