Graduation

Wow, Dalan graduated. It was a great evening, we were all so proud of him. He got two scholarships one from Farm Bureau and one from Pepsi. (I guess they figured out they owe him since he is a die hard Mountain Dew fan. ha ha) We are so excited for him and will love watching him spread his wings. Good Luck Dalan!

We just went to Bailey's final 8th grade chorus concert. They did an awesome job. She stopped and got papers and tablets out of her locker preparing for the last day of school on Friday. She looked through them and found a poem she had to write for her English class and I wanted to share it.

I AM FROM...
By Bailey Lerwill

I am from where the elk graze
and the coyotes cry while
sitting around the campfire,
marshmallows roasting.

I am from the wilderness full of
pine trees, rustling quakies and
hunting stories.

I am from the most loving family,
the baby of four where it is o.k.
to be different and dream.

I am from where we can drink
out of the garden hose, pick huckleberries
and enjoy evening horse rides.

I am from a family who likes music
but the only instrument we
play is the radio.

I am from a place where
I learn how to handle daily problems
and I enjoy life

Seminary Graduation

Dalan graduated from Seminary on Sunday. We were so proud of him. He was the best looking boy up there. It was a good meeting and we were so lucky to have both sets of Grandparents there. We love them both and are so thankful for all that they do for our family and for Dalan.
We came home after the meeting and had raspberry cheesecake. We had a great time and we are proud of Dalan!

Family, Chickens, & Pigs!!

We have been working for about the last month on a chicken coop. We bought baby chicks seven weeks ago and have been trying to get their home up and ready. It has been a family affair and I believe we are finally done. We remodeled the inside of our white building insulating and sheeting and built nesting boxes and made a run. Dalan especially has worked hard at helping us. We also put metal siding on the outside so Bailey doesn't have to paint it this summer. Lucky her. We have really enjoyed it. Just wish the chickens liked their run better, we are funny but we like to just watch them. Can't wait for them to start laying eggs in July. Come see us and we will pass some on to you. We also had a fun experience this week end. We bought pigs like we do every year a couple of weeks ago and we had two that needed cut. The guy we bought them from said he would come do it but we haven't been able to corner him. Well long story short Vladamir from Russia who lived in our valley and with my mom and dad about twenty years ago is here visiting again. He has been raising pigs in Russia and has had up to 600 pigs! Well we stopped to see Mark Trupp who he is staying with and this all came up so we asked him if he would come do the pigs. He said sure and so Saturday he came and oh how we improvised but got the job done. It was a hoot. They came over later that night to see my Dad and Mom who were up for a visit. It was a great time. Hopefully he gets to see Ryan and visit with him. Ryan traveled many hours to visit him when he was serving his mission in Russia. What a small world it really is. P.S. Also we butcher our meat hens on Friday and got them put in the freezer. Also a family affair, even if Bailey didn't want it to be. We enjoyed Grandpa Lerwill sitting with us and making us laugh with his cute sense of humor. It was a great week-end!
