Dalan's Ordination

This is Dalan's Certificate for receiving the Melchizedek Priesthood.

Rexburg Temple

This is really crazy how this happened. I cleaned out my bedroom closest today and I found all these temple keepsakes from the Rexburg Temple Dedication. I wanted to put them into the blog and sat down and started working on it and saw that it was dedicated on the Feb. 3, 2008. I thought how crazy is that. But then I remembered that President Hinkley had died and they had to post pone the dedication. It was dedicated on the 10 th of February 2008. It was President Monson's first official business as the new Prophet of the church. I find it still crazy that I would be doing this almost exactly to the date. It was a special day. It was really great to take our family and go through the open house. We also had the opportunity to work at the temple during the open house. I can't believe it has been 3 years!

My Cute Sister

This is Katie when she worked for the Wagon Train as a cook. She would cook three meals a day (most of the time over a hot fire) for the guests. She did this for two summers. Hard work, but she enjoyed it. She just can't ever eat sloppy joes ever again!

Frame in use

I found a temporary home for the frame. I loved reading the "Love You Forever" book to my kids. In fact I might just have to have Bailey sit down with me tonight and read it. I found a free printable and made it up. Looks great for Valentines Day.

Crafting

O.k. I am so bummed that I did not take a before picture of this frame that I bought at DI for 2 bucks. I was so excited to find it. It is like a heavy heavy resin frame and the original price tag was still on it for 12 dollars. It has the nice black fuzzy felt on the back and glass in front. So you say what was the problem with it...well it was purple. I saw potential though and I brought it home and painted it sandstone and then I glazed the top with a dark brown glaze. Stacy helped me and he sprayed finish on it and I think it is BEAUTIFUL. Can't wait to figure out what to put in it, have some ideas, will have to let you know.

O.k. here is a long story for you. These two Joe Farmer and Megan Thompson are getting married. We got the invitation. So cute as you can see, these are their pictures. We need to go to this one. What do you get for present. Idea, I got a coupon on line for these cute picture boxes for 1/2 off. Cute, a creative outlet for me and reasonable, I was excited. Got on line, played around with program, thought it looked good went to order it, saw mistake backed out, thought order went through but didn't. Did another one and make sure it looks perfect go and check out and forget to put discount code in. BUMMER. Contact company, they say there is nothing they can do to help me, all I want is to have the code put in to make it half off. They tell me I can make another one and when the first one comes I can return it. What you will return a picture specific gift but not give me the discount code. Not sure I understand that one. Anyway I decide not to make another one, time issue and to see if I really would like the quality. I figure I can always send it back and go to Walmart and buy some wedding gift. Well my least favorite shipping company in the world Fed Ex brings my package, we are not home, he leaves by front door, we come home late, wake up next morning, wave to Bailey at 7:30 a.m, look out window see something strange laying on side walk. Oh crap! Yes lovely Otis the dumb dog got a hold of package. Well the photo tile is o.k. but the box is chewed up and felt all gone on the bottom. What do I do know. I called company, well storm back east not open. Figure they won't help and I don't want to deal with Fed Ex. So here is the plan, we take beautiful, elegant, red, shiny wood box and we antique it. Hey we are good at this. We sand, sand some more, make scratches, poke holes all the way around to match dog teeth. Ruff it up really well, add some dark brown stain, and finished it. Must say it doesn't look too bad. Hey they don't know what it was suppose to look like. They got their gift (even though the night of the reception we did not feel like going, there was no way we were going to not give them their gift.). But I still had to pay full price for it!

Valentine's Day Decorations

I think it turned out cute. Always thanks to my wonderful husband for helping me. Will you "Be Mine"!
