Mulitiple Callings

I can not believe how fast time is slipping by. November has come and half over. Wow. It has been busy it seems. Here are a few updates on our life. Kids are doing well. Dalan and Stormi are doing well and keeping super busy with work and school and life. They are both scheduled to graduate with their associates in December. Yeah! Bailey is adjusting to school and doing well. We are so proud of her. She gave her first Relief Society Lesson and did an awesome job. It is fun to watch your children as young adults. She has enjoyed her calling, I think. Dalan and Stormi are the Sunbeam teachers in their ward. This last Sunday we had them all home and it was really enjoyable. Seems like it has been awhile. They all attended church with us as Stacy got a new church calling again. Here is the story. We had Stake Conference on Oct. 27, 2013 and Stacy got a new calling. He was put in as the Stake Sunday School 2nd Councilor. The new President is Allan Smith and Kelly Coburn was the other councilor. What a great bunch of men to work with, and I was excited to have associations with both of their wives. Love both of them! They felted rushed because they were put in and in 3 weeks there was going to be a training meeting and they had to train all the people at the ward levels. A learning curve. They met several times to prepare. Stacy was excited but sad too, because he didn't want to be pulled away from the ward. They said he would be gone a lot especially the first 6 months. But he was really relieved because when we went in to meet with the Stake Presidency we were concerned because we have known that it is our time to get a new bishopric. He has been the Executive Secretary for Bishop Berry for 5 1/2 years. So onward and forward and he was happy that he was were he was and people were leaving him alone about being put in as bishop. Well he had his stake calling 2 weeks and then he got another phone call to meet with the Stake Presidency again. Yikes! The call came as we were pulling into Twin Falls to help move cattle home. So needless to say we could not meet with them on Tuesday and had to settle for Friday at 11:45 am. Made our Twin trip a little less worry free. On Friday we met with President Kunz and he asked Stacy if he would accept a call from Heavenly Father and serve as the 1st councilor in the bishopric. He asked him if he could do that and he said yes. President Kunz said you said yes and you don't even know who the Bishop is. He said I answered your question. We both were really excited though when he told us the new bishop was Jim Douglass. Yeah. We thought he would be our next Bishop a year and half ago when they pulled him out of our ward and had them serve in the singles branch. Yeah for us and Bailey is sad that they won't be there anymore. He will do a great job. Eric Kunz is the 2nd councilor and Aaron Myler is the secretary. They also put in David Breckenridge as a new clerk. Cleve Booker is still in there too, and Roy Bell.  They will all make a great team. A lot of Stacy's good friends.  It is so awful what these Bishops have to go through. It almost doesn't seem fair and right, but I guess someone has to do it. I am so proud of Stacy. I have watched him grow so much serving under Bishop Berry and with Mitch Smaellie and Roger Kaufman and Richard Berry. So on Sunday three week after getting his new Stake calling he got a new calling. He kind of was the sleeper because everyone knew he had a new calling. So Stacy is now a High Priest. Mom and Dad were going to come and have Dad advance him, but the weather was awful and Ryan who was made a bishop two week ago was in Russia so he couldn't come, so Bishop Berry made him a High Priest. He is struggling with that one a little (the High Priest thing). Jeff was there and him and Dalan did get to stand in the circle when they set him apart as the 1st councilor. Dalan also gave his Dad a beautiful blessing that morning. We had to be at the church at 10:15 to meet with the Stake Presidency and the wives all had to bear their testimonies. (I am such a baby) It was kind of funny because Bishop Berry said as we were getting ready to end the meeting that they had skipped Elder Lerwill and shouldn't he have to bear his testimony. He didn't know that he was going to have to do it in Sacrament meeting. So Stacy did a short testimony/thank speech. That might have let the cat out of the bag. But I still don't think everyone caught on. If you looked around and saw who had family there it was pretty obvious who was going to be involved. We just didn't look so obvious because the kids are there often. Verna sat in the row ahead of us and Jeff came and sat by her, so if anyone knew him it was suspicious. Anyway all is good. They will do good and I am sure it will be hard but full of blessings too. Isn't that life. It is like Stacy said I guess it doesn't matter, you are going to serve somewhere. So here  to another 5 years of going to church in multiple cars and not together. I will miss sitting by him though. I actually dread that! Find Joy in the Journey! I am blessed and so thankful for a worthy husband who holds the Priesthood and is such a good man. Love you so much Stacy L.
