When we make a promise to our Heavenly Father and He makes one right back to us, those promises are called covenants. Heavenly Father never breaks His promises to us and we need to try every single day never to break our promises to Him.

Hailey you are entering into the baptismal covenant. As you are baptized today you will promise Heavenly Father that you will remember and follow Jesus and keep all of His commandments. You promise to stand as a witness of God at all times in all things and in all places. You are taking upon you the name of Christ.

Heavenly Father Promises are that He accepts you as a member of his Church. He will forgive you when you make mistakes. He will also give you the gift of the Holy Ghost and promises you eternal life if you remain obedient here in this life.

Being baptized and confirmed through the Priesthood is your key to living with Heavenly Father in the Celestial Kingdom forever and ever.

All of Heavenly Father’s children need to be baptized. Being baptized is the only way there is for us to return and live with Heavenly Father. Being baptized and going under the water washes you clean.

Adam was the first man on earth and he was baptized. Alma in the Book of Mormon was baptized. Jesus also needed to be baptized. Even though Jesus had never sinned he still needed to be baptized. He set the perfect example for all of us.

Every Sunday you will have a chance to remember the covenant you make this day. When you bow your head and take the Sacrament remember the promises that you made with your Heavenly Father. Take time to think about your week and see how you can do better the next week. Remember that Jesus died for us and was resurrected that we all might live again someday. He suffered in Gethsemane to atone for our sins so that we can live with Him and our families for eternity. We just must choose the right, read the scriptures, pray always and obey all the commandments and these blessings are ours.

Hailey, your Heavenly Father is proud of you and your choice to be baptized. He loves you.

I am proud of you……..
