Feb. 22, 2012 Good, Bad, and Ugly

wow what a week it has been. good and bad all around, i don't even know where to start. Glad that you had a good weekend with Cary's family in town and doing some winter sports! sounds like a lot of fun! so i am sure you are all wondering how i am doing so i will get straight to the point...it sucks! haha

Sunday morning i slept walk and i vaguely remember it happening but i stepped wrong on my ankle and it just gave out. i crashed on the floor and it hurt really bad. i bore through it Sunday and Monday and finally got into the doctors yesterday. They did a x-ray and i broke the outside bone on my right foot. it is a pretty bad brake but it is still in place, which is a huge blessing. i also tore a ligament that runs on the inside of the ankle. they put me in a bright orange, hard, non-weight baring cast from the knee down and crutches. I have to go and get it re-x-rayed in one week to make sure it is still in place, if it has moved i will probley need some screws to keep it all together but i feel good that it will stay the way it is! I am being a really good boy and not putting any weight on it at all. :) yes, lots of pain but not as much as before i was in the cast. what good timing huh!? it freaking sucks...last few weeks i am hobbling around and going to come home in a cast probley! kind of depressing but i am hoping for the best! maybe if the new x-rays look good next week by the end of week 3 they will but off the cast and let me get away with a walking boot, but i don't really want to cut too many corners with this one because if something goes wrong it wouldn't be good! but hey, look at the bright side, i am going to get cut abs from pulling myself around on the crutches going up stairs and every where else! haha ill be fine. i will call and let sis ellsworth know how my next apt goes and tell her to call you so you can have a update. :) good? call her if you have any questions! Keep me in prayer!

the baptisms went awesome and both were well attended and went smooth as anyone could ask for. we had investigators at both of them and they are all on track now after seeing a baptism and feeling the spirit that is there. Heathers was so sweet because her long lost cousin that Heather found through ancestry.com gave the talk on Baptism and it was so powerful as she shared their pioneer ancestor stories and what their family had gone through so we could have what we do today. both of them were really powerful and a good experience for everyone in attendance. I will send pics!

to throw onto the stress of the 2 baptisms and a broken ankle we got a call on Saturday night saying the their speaker for sacrament had canceled and they needed us to speak. so that we night we stayed up later and got it for the most part prepared. woke up the next morning to a broken ankle, and then got to go talk at 9! it was awesome haha, to add to that, it was only Elder Hyrkas and myself talking and no intermediate hymn. Elder Hyrkas talked for 8 mins and left the rest to me, haha and away i went. 26 mins and i think it made sense, no one fell asleep either so that was good! :) crazy week end!

as far as this up coming week i am not too sure whats going to happen? the less time i spend on my leg the less chance of it moving so i will do all i can but i am not going to push it. so as for the ski trip when i get home.....ill have to ski on one leg! ;) ha, man this sucks but i am trying to be optimistic
I am glad that you had a good week and got a lot done. keep happy and safe and we will be in contact soon. not very long until another Monday is here! I got your Vday package, thanks so much i really enjoyed it and have loved the snacks! keep safe and healthy and i will keep you posted with everything here! Love you tons.
