Happy Birthday Katie August 6, 1981
I can't believe my little sister is having her last official birthday. You know "29 and holding!" Hey she is awesome and I will love her always. I was thinking about that night she was born and can not believe where time has gone. I had a friend over Cheri Trimble and we were sleeping outside on the lawn. Dad and Mom woke us up in the night and told us they were going to go to Rexburg because Mom was going to have the baby. Mom knew she was early but didn't think she was too early because of her previous babies all coming early and I think there was a mix up on the due date. Anyway we were really excited. That next morning Cheri and I wanted to get things ready and we did some stuff but then we got worried about if our new baby would even be o.k. so we took stuff down and didn't do anything. Katie was born and she was 2 months premature. She weighed 4 pounds 6 ounces. Soon after she was born they did a blood exchange and then they loaded her up in the ambulance and took her to Pocatello to the special baby intensive care. Mom I think just barely got to see her baby. It was a very scary time. A few days after she was born she only weighed 3 pounds 7 ounces. Katie stayed in Pocky for about 1 week and then she was transferred back to Rexburg. But during all this time Katie turned a black color. The doctors didn't know much about this condition call Bronze Baby. My Dad remembers being in Pocky and him and mom standing by their little black baby that was in the special bed and remember someone seeing them and thinking they were probably wondering why this white couple had this black baby. (This was before we had even seen many black people in our area of the world) The doctors told them that they thought she would lighten up and be white, but they were not sure. When back in Rexburg she was tube feed and started to gain weight and lighten up maybe a little. She was in Rexburg for a month. When we got to bring her home she was just under 5 pounds and was drinking from a bottle. She slowly lightened up to her beautiful skin color. She was so much fun and we all enjoyed her so much. She completed our family. I was so excited to have a sister, even if we are 14 years apart. She has been a huge part of my life and also Stacy's. Stacy helped me give her her 5th birthday party before his mission. Katie you are a wonderful daughter, sister, friend, and mother! Love you tons, hope you had a great birthday and many many more that I get to share with you! Love your sister DA!

Floating the River with Jacee and Justin
Jacee and Justin have been here today so tonight we went and floated the river. We went from the Rainey Bridge to the Cache in just 1 hour. We got on the river at 8:15 and it was just getting dark at 9:20 when we pulled out to go get the pick-up. It was so peaceful and what a beautiful night it was. We had a great time.

I can not tell you how much I love my guy and all he does for our family!
Earthquake
Wow, tonight at 6:04 p.m. I was laying on the love seat reading my book about how to feed and care for my husband and it must all be true because the house and couch started moving. It was so wild! I yelled down at Bailey and Jacee to see if they had felt it too or if I was going crazy. Yes they had felt the earthquake also. It happened 25 miles north of Jackson, Wyoming. It was a 4.9. I ran over to the shop to see if Stacy and Justin had felt it, but they were busy working and did not. Pretty crazy. I sure hope we don't ever have a real big one.

Dalan's latest e-mail and pictures. So AWESOME!
hey everyone! i have decided that i am going to try to send a scrip of the week! haha,D&C 6:33&36 :)
its was so good to hear from you all this past week! :) i got the tape and all the letters on Monday and i listened to them last night! it was so nice to hear your voices! haha, kind of a relief to know that things are still happening at home! that's crazy about all the new stuff going on, it doesn't seem like i have been gone too long, yet there is all kinds of crazy things going on there! that's too bad to hear about all those potatoes! its kinda funny, when ever i tell people that i farm in idaho they are always like ohh potatoes, then i tell them that we don't farm them cause where i am from its too cold for potatoes, they about die! PPL down here have no idea what cold really is... when it hits 65 at night people are putting jackets on and i am like, what the crap are you thinking, its just starting to feel good! haha, no one comprehends a night that it freezes in july! haha but the weather has been crazy here! lots and lots of rain! the first night that it hit hard we were on the far end of town and it started to pour and no one was letting us in! it was only 6:30 so we were already soaking wet so we just biked around for the rest of the night! we took some pics wen we got back to the apt so i will send one of them to you! :) also the thunder and lightning has been insane! kinda scary at times... but its alot of fun! :)
In the tape you sent me Cary talked about nasty homes...welcome to downtown snowflake!! i dont like to talk bad about any body or my area but... i will tell you one story! haha, so we are teaching this guy right now, he is a less active member and lives in a single wide trailer out in the middle of no where! the first time i seen it i was so scared! haha, all the way around the bottom of the trailer is strawbayls, what lives under and around straw and hay... yep... mice! so we knock on his door and hes is like oh come in! so we go in and the smell is something i cant describe. there is trash stacked to the ceiling, i had to turn sideways to walk down the hall!! so we finally get to his living room and he clears off a little spot on the couch for us to sit down, it is like 101 degrees out side and 110 in side! so that makes the smell 10X worse and sweat is just pouring off us. so we are just sitting there talking to him and out of the corner of my eye i see something move, i didn't say anything but i kept looking over there and then all of the sudden i seen 4 mice runn across the back of his stove and into a bag of open cereal! ohhhh goodness.... i about jumped up and ran out, needless to say, we ended conversation early and left, now we do our best to have lessons at the church or at someone Else's homes, but every now and then, we have to go over there! so that was most defently on of my most pleasant experiences! haha ;)
there have been several ppl ask me about snakes...there are tons of snakes down here, in snowflake it is mostly bull snakes but they get like 6 ft long! nasty but ya, they are every where, we have to be really careful biking at nights cause they come out and lay on the roads! and with my luck...haha talk about make you want to pick up your feet!!! :)
you said that i am looking skinny... i weighted this morning after i got out of the shower and i weigh 160! so ya the hot weather and biking around takes it toll but all is going well! :) i just got my dex in a few days ago for the first time in a while and my sugars are awesome! i hardly ever go over 250 so i am being blessed and watched over so much! :) but as far as sending more for right now i still have 3-4 left! :)
Our mission is way lax on music! as long as it invites the spirit its for the most part O.K. :) but ya i would love some music! we have a CD player in the apt and we listen to music all the time! that would be awesome! thanks :)
here is kind of a crazy thing that happened to me the other day, we were tracting so homes that we didnt know who live there and we knocked on this house and they invited us in and they were members. there niece and her husband were there visiting and we were just talking and the husband kept staring at me. we finally got to the part of the conversation where they ask where you from and how long you have been out, i said i was from driggs ID and have been out for a few months. (I always say driggs because some one might know where driggs is...but never Tetonia haha) and then the husband was like wait, your not from driggs, your from tetonia....and i was like....uuuuuuuuuggg?!?! how do you know this!?! and he said that he was at my farewell wen i gave my talk! haha, his parents are the mission pres of the Pocky mission!! haha, it is such a small world! so that was kinda crazy :)
And mom, for your talk you asked how Doug and Kaitlyn are doing!? and ya i think that would be a great one to talk about cause they are like my best friends! :) they are coming to church every week and fully active. the latest news is Doug has been working at the pig farm for the past 4 years and absoulty hates it! he has been looking really hard trying to find a new job for the past two years and nothing has come up! he was getting really frustrated and had finally come to the conclution that he was going to have to settle for the pig farm for the rest of his life! haha, but sense we have been meeting with him he has totally change, not only how he is living, but his entire attitude on life! he has grown his testiony in a way that he didnt know possible and has gained a real, deep, sincere relationship with the Lord! he started really praying for his life to be directed in the was that would best help his family and last week he got a phone call for a power company in Sho Low that he applied to 1 yr ago and they wanted him to come in for a interview. he stared working there on monday and he is so happy! when he told me that he got the job offer/interview/JOB, he gave me a big hug and started crying. it was truly a miracle! when you forget about your self and focus on the needs of your family and there well being and rely on the Lord, he will put you where you need to be, when you need to be there! so ya, they are doing amazing, you can even see the changes in their sweet kids! their family is amazing and i love them so much. they have turned everything around and they will make it as long as they continue doing what they are doing!
The Lord always blesses us and our families, He wants us to be happy and prosper, but often times we don't realize the full potential of the Lord till you put your self in the right situations and starting living the way we need to, that he will "open the windows of heaven and shower blessings upon our heads to where we don't have room enough to receive them." (Mal 3) i think that is the right scrip. reference, sorry if its not! haha :) things are going really well for them. it always makes me so happy to see ppl change! :) and being a missionary, i get to see alot of that, its really wonderful! :)
well i got to get running but thanks for all that you do for me! i means alot to me and i look forward to hearing from you all again soon! hope all continues to go well for you on the farm and in all of your other activities! i am praying for all of you! hope you have a wonderful week! keep moving forward, its was better than the other option! ;) Love you all and miss you tonz! take care and be safe!

Way to go Bailey!
Well today Stacy and I went out to IF to can chicken at the cannery. Luckily we had a very easy session and most of the work was done when we got their. We were scheduled to be there from 12-3 but were leaving at about 1:15! So cool. We got 12 cases of chicken, so exciting. I love to have this in my food storage!!! Bailey didn't want to go and faked sick(I am kidding, sorta of?) (love you, Bailey!) and she did a good job and she got to stay home with conditions. She needed to do some things here at the house. Wow we got home around 4:30 and there was fresh homemade bread and fresh homemade poppy seed bread, the house was clean, horses watered, laundry all done! She did a great job. We love her and are so proud of her! I could get really use to this!!!!
She also just left for YW at Regina Beard's house and drove! Wow, this is crazy! They are having fair food. So Regina got our funnel cake recipe and is making that. Bailey also took Dalan's hot dog cooker and her snow cone maker. They should have a great time!
They all look so pretty and taste YUMMY

From this to..........
this! Can you believe that. I walked by one day and it looked like the leaves were all lacy. The next day even more and by about the 3rd day it looked like this. I didn't see anything on it buy Stacy came by and saw a little tiny green caterpillar. We use to always read that book. I miss those days!

Letter to Bailey from Elder Lerwill
Letter from my bro! :)
Well I got this letter today and I love it and its really good and I wanted to share it!
This is a little article in with it:oh and PS he whited out the word and put BROTHER and SISTER
Make sure your parents meet [and become acquainted with] those you date. Because dating is preparation for marriage, Date only those who have high standards. Be careful to go places where there is a good environment, where you won't be faced with temptation. A wise BROTHER said to his SISTER, If you ever find yourself in a place where you shouldn't ought to be ,get out! Good advice for all of us. Pres. Monson May 2010
This is the letter:
Bailey Hey how are you doing?! :) How dose it feel to have a drivers licence?:) ha ,did you have a good time @ the family Reunion?i sure hope so. Mom told me that Kaysha came home with you I'm sure you are having a blast! The swing looks like so much fun!! Are you ready for skool to start up again? What day do you go back? WOW your a sophomore! That is so crazy. It seems like it was just yesterday that I was your age and in high skool! My only advice is to stay smart and safe and choose good Friends, and set goals and don't settle 4 anything less!I was reading through the Ensign and I came across this talk on dating so I figured I'd cut a little out and send it to you. Be smart and safe, cause I really don't want to buy a flight home to kill a 16 year old boy. But anyways on a different note , things are going really well here. Me and Elder Mace are getting along better and he is starting to open to me little by little ! But only 6 more weeks! wow, It sure is crazy how fast time goes by! Enjoy the point of life your in right now and don't wish it away. It'll be over before you know it any ways ! So live it up and keep on top of your sugars!;) Enjoy the end of your summer and keep your chin up! That's amazing that you have about finished the B.M! Keep it up, it's what helps you get through ALL your trials!:) Keep up the good work ! Be safe, have a wonderful week! Love you, miss you tonz!
