E-Mail June 6, 2011

Hello, it was so great to be able to read all of your emails today and hear about all that exciting new stuff happening up there. cant believe that this is the 2nd time that you are doing green canyon with out me! time really seems to fly by. sounds like you had a wonderful memorial day weekend! i did not get your tape yet but i bet it will be hear soon. i am just finishing up mine and I WILL get it in the mail soon! haha, time seems to slip away really fast and i get behind, but that will get done this week!
That is so sweet that they are remodeling the church! it needs it bad and the new parking will be wonderful! wasn't it the last time that they did any kind of renovation was when dad was on his mission?!? now they are doing it on mine so that will be kinda different. nice though!

i read though all my emails and i got several companionship's in our zone that have been slacking with submitting baptismal records so we will be having to run around and get them all gathered up and faxed in! we are averaging about 8 baptisms a week in our zone so we are constantly trying to catch up! but that is a good thing! :)

I got a DVD of Justin's piano recital this week and we watched it this morning! he did such a great job! tell him congrats on the graduations and everyone else that did as well!

Bailey good job on your grades! that's amazing. you are so amazing, i wish that i had the perspective that you do when i was your age... i would have taken everything a whole lot more serious! :) keep it up and enjoy your summer! don't get too many blisters on your feet from swimming too much!

One thing about AZ is that EVERYONE has a swimming pool! now that schools out and it is really starting to get hot, everyone is always swimming. it looks like a nice feature for a hot day...but no, i wouldn't know! haha

so this week has been a little challenging with the work. we only taught about half as many lessons. we had to drop a bunch of people because they weren't progressing and we baptised the stoneburgs so we kinda cleaned house and we are starting over. we seen so many blessings this week!

We found a new investigator named Merced. she met with missionaries 2 years ago here but then had to last min move to Kansas and lost contact with the church. she moved back after graduation and her friend invited her over for dinner when we were there and we were able to teach her right there. she is so prepared and will be getting baptised the end of June. :) such a blessing. she came to the mission presidents fireside last night and absolutely loved it! she has awesome friends and is excited about it all. we are so excited to be able to work with her for the next little bit and be able to see her baptised!

we also seen another incredible miracle this week! 2 months ago we talked to this guy on the side of the road named Rodd and he was stuccoing his cinder block wall. he was really cold and kinda rude to us. said that he was catholic and wanted nothing to do with us. we offered some service to help him finish his wall and he kinda snapped back at us with a smart comment like sure come back! haha so we tryed and tryed and we couldn't ever get back in touch with him and we thought that he was just ignoring us....we were planning on Thursday night and we had the thought that we needed to try him again so we did on Friday, he and his wife Patty answered the door and invited us right in. he explain how a few days after we talked to him he had heart failure and had a pace maker put in and was just recently getting our of the hospital and on the recovery. we offered to finish their wall and do all their yard work, since they had been gone for so long it was a real mess. so Saturday morning we finish the stucco(which is a whole lot of work) and did their lawn in 105 degree weather! :) they fed us breakfast and we able to talk with them for a while and their countenances completely changed. they said that we can come back and teach them about our wonderful message! as we left, she was in tears and so grateful for the service, it truly softens hearts lets people know that we really care, its not just show. so awesome! the ward hears about these people and instantly starts fellow shipping them and inviting them to all the ward activities! so awesome and we are really excited for them!

also, Lee Greer invited her friend to meet with us in her home tomorrow! recent converts are the best missionaries and so so much for us! Lee and Paul both have been called as ward missionaries and are doing so great at fulfilling them.

we have also started teaching the stoneburgs cousin! she is really awesome as well and we taught her on Saturday and she came to church with them Sunday! great! Matthew and Olin received the priesthood on Sunday and that was so exciting for them! they are doing so great and are being amazing missionaries! that is really sweet that Kim talked to dad. YA,...she will defiantly talk and talk and talk! :) they are amazing and ya i got those pics that you sent to her. how awesome. i got them saved on a thumb drive and so i got them! call her or face book her when Katie has her baby and she will let me know... that is if i am still here in this area! haha.

transfers are coming up fast again. elder Thomas and i are wanting to stay together for another 6 weeks! we are going to pull all the strings we can and see if we can get it done! we are having a blast together! :)
well i will let you go but thank you so much for all your love and support. emails and letters both, i love hearing how things are going and it makes my day! all of you who send letters and i don't get back right away i apologize. i will try and be better! :) i hope that you have a great week and keep safe happy and healthy! i am doing great and will get you my package sent off asap! keep up the good work and we will be in touch soon!
Love,

Elder Dalan Lerwill
