E-Mail August 1,2011, Sunsets, Baptism of Terri O'Brien, Loving His Mission

Hello, it was really good to be able to read your emails you sent. thanks so much for all the school information and that good stuff. ill let you know when i know something more! :)

well it sounds like you all had quite the eventful week there! i am so happy to hear that Bailey is O.K. and Dad as well. that's really scary. really sucks that such a nice horse is a bone head. I am glad though that you all got to go out on a ride, that sounds like a blast! that is great that you are getting so much rain and the crops are looking so good. lets just keep praying that the rain stays rain! last night here we got a really good storm. it rained really hard for about 20 mins. and then it was lightning and thunder all night! Super humid now and 105 degrees. it cooled off to 80 last night though during the rain and it felt really good. also a really crazy dust storm! got some sweet pics ill send! :) I am happy to hear that things are going the way they are there and your all safe and doing well!

Mom i have read that talk and it is awesome. i remember reading that talk and being really impressed and taking some notes and markings on it so i will go home today and in some down time re read it and write you some of my thoughts! you will do great and grow a lot from it! thats also really exciting about the church bldg restore! hopefully they don't put orange carpet back in! haha

That is so exciting about having the missionaries over for dinner! every mission varies in what they get fed a lot of. here we get a ton of pastas (spaghetti, lasagna, Alfredo) i would avoid anything like that. :) i wish people would settle down a little when we come over and just have burgers on the grill. everyone thinks that they got to pull out all the china. simple and good! :) Oh and make sure they share a message with you before they leave! :)

I did get your package you sent me and i really liked it. the jerky is so good and i loved all the small fun things. thanks for all your support thoughts and prayers. means a lot to me.

Do you know if Wes and Katie's kids got the hats i made? haha, we have a investigator who is really big into knitting and crocheting and all that good stuff and every time we are over there teaching we would always pick it up and do a little and it was kinda fun so we bought some looms and went to town like 2 grandmas! haha it was kinda fun. hope they got them and they fit!

I am glad to hear that grandpa curtis is doing well and is on the mend quickly. sounds enjoyable to have them there this week end. sounds like you had a good one! :) I did as well, it has been a really busy week and we got a lot accomplished this week! transfer news comes in this saturday. i cannot believe how ridiculously fast time is flying by. especially this last transfer. its kinda scary.

Terri O'Brien's baptism was on saturday and it was so aweosme. she was so ready and they spirit was so strong there as she reminisced about her conversion and how everything in her life up to this point has been preparing her to recieve this gospel. it was so awesome. the singing went really well actually. we sang I Know That My Redeemer Lives and each verse we different thing so it was really cool. I feel so blessed to be able to be here at this time and to be a part of peoples lives and see first hand the changes and blessings that come from living the gospel. I love being a missionary. when i first came out i heard all these old missionaries talk about how they wish they could trade me places and i honestly thought they were lying to me to make me thankful for the time i had. but now i realize that they were being completely serious. i love my mission so much and never want it to end. i know that some day in a LONG time its kinda scary to think about coming back into the real world. good thing its a ways off and i don't have to worry about it. EVERY young man NEEDS to serve a mission, not only do you bless and help others, but along the way you yourself become converted and realize what is truly important in the grand scheme of things! its a great and humbling experience!

now on a funny note...kinda! you all would have loved to see me on tuesday night! i was a squirming and nasty! haha. we have a less active who lives in a more humble part of AJ and her trailer got infested with bed bugs so we went over and helped her take apart her trailer. we werent thinking much about it but bed bugs come out at night and we started this job at 7:30 that night! haha, it was really hard. we threw out her couch, bed, and all the carpet had to be ripped out. it was experience to remember! but we got it done and as far as we have been able to tell we haven't got them yet, thankfully! :)

so it has been a really awesome week and we are excited for this up coming week and to see all the miracles that will happen. Ashton i getting interview for baptism this Saturday is doing really well! i willget you a email with some sweet pics coming soon! hope you all have a aweosme week and keep safe and healthy. i love you and your always in my prayers! take care

Love
