I have seen lots of people re-do their butcher block knife holders and have thought about it for awhile. It is hard for me to paint good wood. Mine was hickory like the cabinets and still looked good, but I wanted some color and something new. Couldn't decide if I wanted to leave it solid or antique it. Well I had it painted and went and top coated it and was bringing into the house to dry and it slipped and I smeared it. So I antiqued it and glazed it and I love it.
